When: Thursday, May 18, 10 p.m. 11:18 p.m. (first event, reoccurring every 18 th ) 10 p.m.: Meeting to establish group collaboration 10:05 p.m.: Group standing in place on location 11:18 p.m.: Conclusion Visuals: Men offering their participatory $18, to fund Care 18 projects Men standing in a line, three feet apart, each holding a burning candle for an hour and 18 minutes Accurate sex trafficking location (protests occur in trafficking hotspots) Interviews: Brad Fieldhouse, Care 18’s advisor of engagement (originated the event) Sargent Brian Ghallager, head of Human Trafficking Task Force for the south bureau Why: Care 18 wished to provide men a chance to solely stand against sex trafficking. The masculine silent protest will encourage women that not all men are abusive. The event will collectively raise awareness. Who: Care 18 leads a collaborative movement to address human trafficking of minors in Los Angeles with a victim-centered approach, in effort to eradicate modern day slavery. Where: 77 th Street Community Police Station: 7600 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90003; Take the 110 North toward Los Angeles, exit toward Florence Avenue onto South Grand Avenue, turn right onto West 76 th Street, turn right onto South Broadway, the station will be on the left. ###
