Film Synopsis/Outline• Jack is a man almost like any other, he

wakes up, eats breakfast and goes to work, but a fragile mind and a crippling drug addiction have left him unsure as to what is real in his life and what is merely the creation of his broken psyche.

• His alter ego, the reaper is causing him to commit brutal crimes or so he thinks, every night when he goes out the next day someone is dead, supposedly in the name of bringing balance to the worlds of the living and dead and its becoming harder for him to avoid it, his only hope is to attempt to stop his addiction but even then, that may not work...

Film Opening• We open with a shot of a street panning upwards, quiet and

its late. The shot pans up and the view is covered by something, when we re-emerge we are shown Jack at his lowest, shooting up some form of (most likely) psychadelic drugs. Establishing Character and Narrative.

• We see the drug entering his bloodstream, turning it dark and cloudy, the titles emerge.

• We see Jack again now, on a dark, dimly lit street, he is holding a knife covered in blood, his hands appear to be skeletal, he walks towards the camera with the shot jumping between two recordings, one of him as 'the reaper' and one of him in his actual state, in his normal state, the knife is not bloody. Establishing Sub-Genre of Psychological thriller.

• When he fully covers the view of the camera we cut again to a shot of him in an office, living life as usual, he gazes at some medication, but continues what he is doing, we see him look again but to the other side of the desk, where we see a bloodied knife.

Main Stream or Niche Market?

Market FitOur opening scene has a complex plot,

similar to the successful film inception. I say this because the characters lose their grip on reality because of their excessive use of drugs.

My group USP will be the use of mechanical special effects, and the use of highly creative camera shots.

Jump Cuts

Blatant use of jumps cuts can  be used to speed up a section  of film

Jump cuts can also be used to juxtapose a character withanother character/entity
