Featuring Texas Tribune CEO, Evan Smith, guests from a wide range of issue areas and disciplines sit down for a candid and compelling conversation about issues that impact our lives and capture our attention. Presidential candidates, authors, public officials, media leaders, leading entertainers, and more have graced the Overheard stage and catapulted the program into national distribution. Overheard with Evan Smith is distributed nationally and now available to nearly half of all American viewers through 46 PBS stations representing 33% of the United States. Content is also available online at www.klru.org/overheard. In the past 12 months, approximately 16,000 visitors viewed just the Overheard website viewing over 25,000 pages.
Arts In ContextArts In Context is an arts documentary series exploring the process of creation through collaboration and the condition of living and working as an artist. By spotlighting visual arts, dance, music and culture, we hope to pique curiosity and inspire people to learn more about a subject, visit an exhibition, attend a performance or create and share something beautiful of their own and facilitate the dialogue between artists and audiences. Last year, Arts in Context was broadcast in 14 states and 32 markets including New York City and Los Angeles.
The DaytripperThe Daytripper is a fresh, adventurous, and informative look at all the incredible things there are to do all over Texas that lie within one day’s reach of Texas’ major cities. Each episode takes viewers miles away from their city limits to day trip destinations throughout Texas. From hill country mountain biking to serene State Parks to gritty Bar-B-Q joints and classy vineyards, The Daytripper explores the people, culture, and some of the unknown and overlooked treasures that make Texas one of the most unique places in the world.
