It all began at the end of the nineteenth century in Piqua, Ohio, an area later to be knows as the “Underwear Capital of the World.” Medalist® was born as Piqua Underwear Company in 1898. Piqua Underwear was the first of it’s kind; a factory where everything was carried out under one roof, from knitting the yarn to shipping the finished product.

Today, we still carry on the quality, integrity, and heritage instilled in us from our roots in Piqua, while applying the most advanced 21st century technologies available to enhance performance at every level.

HOW DOES ZEOMAX™ WORK?ZEOMAX works by combining an antimicrobial silver solution, which helps kill bacteria, with synthetic zeolites, aiding in absorbing human odor and scent. This silver and zeolite fusion creates a powerful and effective scent control system.

WHY SILVER AND ZEOLITES?Silver is one of the oldest natural ingredients used by man to help kill bacteria. OUTER LAYERThe shell or outer layer is designed to keep the elements out, and body heat in. Wind, rain and snow can quickly alter your comfort and performance level if you’re not prepared. An outer shell resists the penetration of elements while offering ventilation promoting the evaporation of perspiration. With the proper outer shell your base and mid layers can still perform at their optimum level and allow you to be unstoppable against mother nature’s most compromising conditions.

MID LAYERA mid layer is designed to be an insulation layer, trapping air close to your body for heat retention. Wool and synthetic fabrics perform exceptionally well as they provide a great warmth-to-weight ratio without requiring excess bulk. While body temperature regulation is still very crucial, a breathable fabric will perform the best for this layer.

Mid layers can be worn atop a base layer, under a hardshell, or as a standalone garment depending upon the conditions. As your most versatile layer, it is important to always select the proper mid layer; no matter what the activity level or weather conditions are.

BASE LAYERA base layer is a body temperature regulation layer worn next to your skin. Base layers are designed to help move perspiration away from your skin which helps keep you dry. Staying dry helps you keep cool in warm conditions and retain the proper level of body heat in cold conditions.

Our base layer clothing is grouped into three levels of protection based on the weight of fabric used in the garment. Each protection level is designed to support a different temperature and activity level.
