22 September 2010 MED-EL OFFERS DISCOUNTED 2nd IMPLANT SYSTEM We would like to bring to the attention of all new and existing recipients an offer by the MED-EL company to provide a discounted second implant system. The discounted saving would be 50% or approximately $17,000. The Southern Cochlear Implant Programme has been offering the MED-EL cochlear implant system to adult recipients since 2006. We have recently begun providing the MED-EL device as part of the children’s programme. The following are the terms and conditions of the offer: The offer is made by MED-EL Limited for a MED-EL cochlear implant system only. The offer is available to all new and existing recipients. This includes children whose first implant was a Cochlear Limited device. The offer expires on 30 June 2011. The offer includes only the cost of the implant system. Recipients and/or their families would need to fund surgery, hospital costs, plus any travel and accommodation costs associated with management of the second implant. MED-EL OFFERS DISCOUNTED 2nd IMPLANT SYSTEM
