Mechanical Project Services (MPS) Mechanical Project Services was established in 1985 to commission, service and maintain HVAC and mechanical services systems installed by the MPM Group contracting division, Mechanical Project Management, one of the many roles MPS still fills today. MPS has grown in size and has expanded its operation evolving into one of Western Australia’s premier air conditioning mechanical services and refrigeration maintenance and service companies. MPS’s growth over the past 30 years can be seen from its beginnings providing a support role for MPM to currently operating as a separate company maintaining and servicing over four hundred sites for various property management companies, independent owners and developers throughout Western Australia. We now service and maintain the complete spectrum of mechanical services.

MPS contracts division specialises in the provision of contract management for mechanical services installations in tenancy and shop fit outs as well as refurbishments and upgrade of HVAC systems. Our contracts division utilises project management systems developed to ensure complete management of MPS’s main objectives cost control, time management, safety and quality assurance. MPS commenced in the electrical contracting market in 2014. Our Renewable Energy Power Generation division was later established to provide solar power options to our extensive Client base throughout Western Australia.

Special Projects Department MPS as part of the MPM Group, directly employ key project staff to manage all components of the project life cycle. MPS has a vast array of in-house personnel, augmented by specialist subcontractors enabling us to deliver mechanical services projects in Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria. Electrical Contracting MPS fully qualified personnel are able to provide a wide range of electrical contracting and maintenance services. Renewable Energy MPS have assembled an experienced, qualified and skilled professional team for the design, engineering and construction of PV grid connect and stand alone solar power systems.

BRAVO BUILDING

Client: PAPL The Bravo offices are located at Perth Airport and comprise of five levels with office accommodation over four levels, a gymnasium over two levels and a food and beverage outlet on the ground floor. MPS have been maintaining the mechanical services since construction. The building is 4 star GreenStar rated and the BMS provides monthly utility reports for NABERS and GreenStar reporting. RIO TINTO ECHO 1

Client: PAPL Rio Tinto Echo 1 is located at the Perth Airport; the building is made up of 4 levels and an underground basement. MPS is contracted to maintain the mechanical services. Echo 1 is 5 star GreenStar rated and MPS provides weekly meter readings for NABERS and GreenStar reporting. MPS conducts System Interface Testing (SIT) and Essential Safety Measures Audits (EMS) annually together with the building fire contractors and a third party auditor. MAINTENANCE & SERVICE Maintenance & Service

MPS provides maintenance and service to over 400 sites within Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria. The sites maintained have a very diverse range of mechanical services and refrigeration equipment such as central plant systems, direct expansion refrigeration air conditioning systems, commercial refrigeration plant and self contained unitary air conditioning systems, PV grid connect solar power systems. Our sites include GreenStar and NABERS rating installations, specialised medical facilities, public facility buildings, data centres and sites which operate 24 hours per day, throughout the year. MPS has 110 qualified technicians, 12 apprentices and a fleet of highly equipped vehicles on the road managed by our in house i-Request system providing quality routine maintenance attendance and timely response to service breakdowns, with the capacity to provide resources to emergency calls when they arise. After hours emergencies are quickly responded to through our dedicated “On Call Team”, whom are ready to attend immediately to any after hours service call. Our “On Call Team” is supported through the Area Service Managers, General Manager, Regional Manager and Company Director. With one of the largest service team in Western Australia, MPS is able to provide confidence to our Clients, in the knowledge that a highly qualified team of technicians is always available to attend any HVAC or refrigeration issue that may arise. MPS service reports are comprehensive, defining all works performed, fully costed and with any outstanding or recommended remedial works highlighted and quoted. All reports and system history can be viewed in real time through client portholes into the MPS i-Request system.

We have enhanced our culture and practices and dedicate time, resources and leadership to attract, develop and retain exceptional people. BUSSELTON HEALTH CAMPUS

Client: Busselton Health Campus

The Busselton Health Campus includes 64 overnight and 20 same day beds, renal unit, 2 theatres, procedures room and an expanded emergency unit. HVAC equipment maintained includes chilled water system, heating water system and air conditioning. MPS have been providing maintenance and service since the start of the DLP period in 2015. COCKBURN GATEWAY

Cockburn Gateway Shopping Centre is located in Success. Services maintained include chillers, cooling towers, condenser water systems, boiler, water treatment, MSSB’s, controls, chilled water, heating water and reverse cycle split systems. Client: Jones Lang LaSalle

Central Park is an iconic 51 storey office tower in the Perth CBD. Upon opening in 1992 the building was noted for being technologically advanced, with “fully computerized air conditioning”. Central Park has achieved a 5 star NABERS rating for energy efficiency and looks to improve on this in the future. MPS work closely with the building management team to ensure we assist to maintain and improve the NABERS rating for the building. MPS have provided this service since base building in 2014.

MAINTENANCE & SERVICE REPORTING SYSTEM i-Request – Easy Tracking of Maintenance & Service MPS provides a number of different reporting and information methods through the use of i-Request, to best satisfy client needs. MPS has adopted i-Request which links with client systems. Streamlining the management of maintenance and service requests leads to greater tenant/guest satisfaction and building efficiency by eliminating time consuming, ineffective and often redundant paperwork. Quality information allows facility managers to identify and address potential issues, resulting in better system performance and energy management. This IT based platform offers our clients a ‘live’ interactive, integrated service and maintenance tool and provides the following:

NEXT DC DATA CENTRE

Client: Next DC Value: $950K

The Next DC Data Centre is located in Malaga. MPS supplied and installed mechanical services to the Data Halls 3 & 4 works included:

• 1 x cooling Tower including extensions of stainless steel pipework

• 2 x air handling units with humidity control • 1 x chilled water ring main • 5 x free issue track units • 1 x transformer room fan coil unit and

ventilation system • 2 x MSSB’s

The building remained fully occupied and operational during these works. This project was completed in 2018. WESTPAC FITOUT

Client: Shape Group Value: $1.2M

The Westpac Office is located in Brookfield Place, Tower 2 on levels 2, 3 & 4 in the Perth CBD. MPS supplied the mechanical services including:

• Main comms room hot aisle containment CRAC system

• Ceiling concealed water cooled package units

• Kitchen exhaust and outside air systems • Upgrade to BMS control systems.

This project was both a Green Star and WELL project and was completed in October 2017.

Estimating: Our estimators provide cost effective and intelligent solutions for mechanical services installations.

Engineering: Engineering design checks are undertaken on each and every job regardless of size, by fully qualified mechanical engineers.

Project Management & Supervision: Our project team has undergone extensive training and are experienced across the full spectrum of mechanical services installations. They are entrusted with total project control from conception to completion. Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Assurance: MPS have a dedicated SHEQ Systems Manager and site teams are fully conversant with legislative requirements within these areas. MPS management systems have been third party accredited for SHE&QA.

Drafting & BIM: MPS have draftsmen that use the most up to date AutoCAD software, the drafting team produces high quality, precise shop drawings that take into account building structure and service requirements.

Commissioning: As mechanical services have continued to evolve in complexity, intricate integrated building management systems require careful commissioning to optimize operation, internal comfort and maximise energy efficiency. MPS has a dedicated internal commissioning and project completion department staffed with highly skilled building services professionals. Sheetmetal & Duct Fabrication: Ductworx is the group’s state of the art on-site sheet metal and duct manufacturing facility. Mechanical Project Services (MPS) provide industry services in the electrical, PV solar power and mechanical HVAC markets. MPS have been successfully delivering turnkey services and project services since 1985. MPS commenced in the electrical contacting market in 2014. Our PV division was later established to provide solar power options to our extensive Client base throughout Western Australia, Queensland & Victoria in the commercial, resource and government market sectors. We have engineered and installed a number of PV grid connect installations from 50kW to 300kW in capacity. We have a highly experienced and qualified team for the design, construction, commissioning, training and maintenance of PV Grid Connect and stand alone solar power systems. MPS have a thorough understanding of Supply Authority requirements for class 2 and class 3 PV systems. MPS utilise our in-house resources and capability with our PV software packages to assess and analyze energy consumption data. This provides an optimum design solution for all applications and PV systems. A comprehensive analysis and return on investment and cost estimate is included with our proposals.

MPS have been engaged since 2017, to carryout the maintenance and service of the following plant; air cooled chillers, air handling units and in excess off 300 fans assisted VAV’s with electric heater banks. Additional to the above the Data Centre on Level 2 equipment comprises of; CRAC units and vertical discharge DX splits. Supplementary cooling across all floors is provided by chilled water fan coil units. ROYAL PERTH HOSPITAL

Client: Energy Power Systems Value: $300K MPS have been contracted to carryout the following works in 2018.

• Decommissioning and removal of existing generator systems.

• Installation of new generators, heat exchangers and ventilations systems.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Northwest Operations The MPM Group have established northwest operations in Port Hedland, Karratha and Onslow. MPS is able to provide ongoing service and maintenance in this region with their teams of qualified technicians who live in the area and are part of the local community. Our investment in local infrastructure and long term resident team members allows us to understand the needs of the clients in the region. We are fully conversant in the stringent HR & SHEQ and working methods requirement on mining and gas installations enabling our business to provide quality, installations, maintenance and service to this sector. Mining, oil, gas and commercial sectors are a major focus of our northwest business strategy as we continue to grow in these areas and beyond. MPS have a significant maintenance and service contract with Chevron ABU to provide all required HVAC services for Gorgon LNG Plant (Barrow Island), Wheatstone Platform and Wheatstone LNG Plant. MPS provide additional services to WA oil and non-infrastructure buildings and facilities. Looking to the future to support our growth while maintaining our high level of qualified technicians we have incorporated into our operations MPS apprentice training program for both indigenous and non-indigenous apprenticeship applicants of both genders.

South West Operations In 2015 MPS established a Bunbury office to service the South West region. Our operations in Bunbury are supported from our Perth office on all levels as and if the need arises. We are providing the same high level of HVAC installations, maintenance and service to our clients in the mining, commercial, health, education and tourism sectors throughout this area. and if the need arises.

PRIMERO GROUP

Client: Primero Group Value: $85K This project comprises of Fronius inverters, Trina Tier 1, 320 watt panels and Magellan Solar smoother unit, grid connected to the Horizon Power Network. The project design and application process was complex involving Horizon Power, adherence to feed in management, system engineering and time line requirements were critical aspects of this project. The system will produce approximately 111,000 kW hours per annum; approximately 15% will be exported to the grid.

TOWN OF PORT HEDLAND

Client: Town of Port Hedland MPS provide air conditioning maintenance and breakdown repair services to the JD Hardie Centre, Civic Centre and Wanangkura Stadium. A wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment is maintained as part of this contract, including:

• package units • ice machines / water coolers • split systems • split ducted systems • chilled water / central plant systems • BMS control systems

MPS engaged the support of the BMS software manufacturer and installed remote login capabilities to allow for immediate rectification / feedback of control issues. Workflow was scheduled to ensure the building use was not affected during peak periods.

PORT HEDLAND Our Port Hedland operation commenced trading in early 2014, specialising in the mining, resources sector and commercial mechanical and electrical services. Our Port Hedland operation is headed up by Chris Hayes. Chris has been associated with the Port Hedland community for over 10 years. Our strong local presence has been instrumental in developing a successful contracting business based on relationships, commitment to service and the local business community. Our local team of 17 qualified technicians provide HVAC, electrical and PV solar power services to the town and industrial sites. MPS major Clients are as follows:

WHEATSTONE - LNG PLANT

Client: Chevron Australia

MPS provide ongoing maintenance and service, installation and commissioning of HVAC equipment for the Wheatstone LNG Plant, Wheatstone Upstream offshore platform and Gorgon LNG facility (Barrow Island). MPS has been providing these services since 2014. SHIRE OF ASHBURTON OFFICE

Client: Woollam Construction Value: $300K MPS was engaged to supply and install mechanical services which included the following:

These works were completed in 2015. DISCOVERY HOLIDAY PARK

Client: Discovery Holiday Park MPS have been providing service and maintenance to air conditioning and refrigeration equipment since 2015. Equipment maintained includes; split system air conditioning, package units, coolroom and freezer rooms.

ONSLOW In 2015, MPS established a branch in Onslow to service the Wheatstone LNG facility and to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance services to businesses and residents of Onslow. Our Onslow operation forms part of the service operation and contract to provide HVAC services to the Wheatstone LNG Plant. As part of this commitment we have established a local presence to provide a comprehensive HVAC service to the community of Onslow.

Our local branch manager Michael Penski is committed to a high level of services to both our major client Chevron and the local businesses of Onslow. Our Clients include:

KARRATHA TAFE

Client: North Regional TAFE Value: $540K This project comprises of Fronius inverters, Trina Tier 1, 320 watt panels and Magellan Solar smoother units, grid connected to the Horizon Power Network. The newest facilities on the campus were selected for PV panel installation following engineering assessment of the Skills Centre and Fabrication building. The system will produce approximately 3.4 Megawatt hours per annum, the majority of which will be consumed by the campus. PILBARA PORTS AUTHORITY

Client: Pilbara Ports Authority

MPS provide air conditioning and refrigeration service and maintenance to all Pilbara Ports sites. A wide range of air conditioning equipment is maintained as part of this contract including:

• package units • ice machines • water coolers • split systems • split ducted units • BMS control systems • Electrical shift cover and shutdown labour

MPS also carried out the following works:

• audit of all site equipment • identification of crucial equipment, ensuring

spare parts are readily available • recommendations for efficiency

improvement, enabling cost savings.

KARRATHA In 2013 our first branch in the Pilbara Region was established in Karratha. Offering high quality maintenance and installation of mechanical services options to the local market to strengthen its existing projects execution capability and allow MPS to deliver quality DLP and maintenance services to all existing and new Clients. Our investment in local infrastructure and people allows us to provide a personal touch, with our employees being residents in the Pilbara with in-depth local knowledge and familiarity giving us a strong advantage particularly with SHEQ management being such an important and integral part of the industry.

Client: Smith Constructions Value: $63K MPS supplied mechanical services which included; Daikin VRV system with multiple heads and toilet exhaust systems. This project was completed in 2017.

BUNBURY Southwest Operations MPS have a permanent office based in Bunbury, which was established in 2015 servicing the greater south west region of the state. We employ staff with local knowledge to service this rapidly growing region.

Our Bunbury branch is headed up by Brian Lear. Brian has more than 40 year’s experience in the industry and in the south-west region. Bunbury have been successful in providing a high quality service throughout the south west area.
