In operations such as waste removal or decommissioning tasks, where the mechanical handling of nuclear waste is involved, Assystem Energy and Nuclear is able to provide innovative engineered solutions through the design and supply of equipment to safely cut, remove, categorise and „containerise‟ the waste. Remotely operated vehicles, special shielded transfer enclosures, container handling and transportation, all feature prominently in the solutions provided to our customers to date.

Operating in the nuclear industry Assystem Energy and Nuclear have designed, assembled, tested, commissioned, managed and decommissioned a large variety of machines and systems for mechanical handling of hazardous or delicate materials and inspection and repair of facilities.

Projects can typically range from the provision of „front-end‟ designs for new concept machinery, to the assembly and development of bespoke mechanisms and equipment to clients‟ individual specifications.
