O Abstract:
O Powder metallurgy helical gear:

IntroductionO Fire tanker is the main weapon of fire fighting and disaster relief, rescuing
O The power take off is used to transmit output power of the engine to the fire apparatus.
O Function of the power take off affects the whole fire engine performance.
O Powder metallurgy gear has low manufacturing cost, high precision, better wear resistance, and fatigue
resistance, good resistance to high temperature and corrosion resistance than common alloy gears.
O Finite element method is used on analysis of the characteristic of the transmission gear.

Fire tanker power take-off mode
O Power take off is a power transmission device through gear.
O According to the installation position and the role, fire vehicle power take-
off power mode is roughly divided into five categories:
Forcing from transmission cover,
Transmission countershaft of power,
Taking full power
Forcing from driving shaft
Lateral forcing.

Conclusion:O Fire tanker power take-off performance depends on the gear
transmission performance.
O The possible resonance frequency mode has been calculated to
provide reference for optimization design.
O Transmission efficiency test has proved that the powder metallurgy
helical gear is a kind of high performance gear. In the same
condition, its efficiency 14% more than that of the alloy helical gear
and the maximum transmission efficiency can be over 99%.
O It has more stable transmission, longer service life, enhances the
power performance.
