MEBA surge protective device is suitably used in the IT, TT, TN-C, TN-S, TN-C-S and etc power supply system of AC 50/60Hz, rated voltage up to 380V, to protect from direct and indirect lightning impulse and other transient over voltage. As per the conditions of IEC61643-1:1998-02 standard, Class I surge protective device, it is category B surge protective device. In three phases and four wires system, all three phase lines and one neutral line to earthing line have SPD to be protected, in normal service, the SPD is at the state of high resistance. when network produce surging over-voltage due to thunder or other reasons, SPD will be conductive within short time (ns), lead surging voltage into ground, consequently to protect the electric appliances of network. After surging voltage passed by SPD, and disappeared, SPD recover in high resistance. It will not have influence on the normal service of network.
