In a true Community partnership with Friends in Need Foodbank, local Save On Foods, Burnett Fellowship Church and many others, we are able to provide a total of 24 backpacks to 5 elementary schools within both communities presently. e Starfish Pack Project is a weekly food security program, providing food to hungry kids over the weekend. A backpack containing 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, snacks and fruit is delivered on Friday to the participating schools and distributed as required. On Monday the empty backpacks are collected to be re-filled for distribution on the following Friday again. e Cost of filling one backpack for one child every weekend throughout the school year is $525. We are presently delivering 24 backpacks to 5 local schools, but many more schools are asking for the program to be introduced in their school. Every donation makes a difference! We rely on donations and sponsorships to be able to fill these backpacks.
