We were warmly received by residents, families and staff. Several compliments and nice letters were sent thanking us for our partnership with Meadowlands. To date, our primary focus has been to understand the current operation. To build confidence that we are “listening,” our goal is to begin slowly making changes to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Here are some highlights: We have started "person-centered care" and dementia care staff training. Neighborhood family and resident town hall meetings are being scheduled during October. I look forward to discussing the services and amenities regarding the different levels of care we provide. The Meadowlands is the 2011 sponsor of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 1. We are hosting a water station outside on the Meadowland’s lawn. Families, employees and investors are welcome to walk with us or volunteer at the water station. We want to closely tie our Memory Care to the Alzheimer’s Association and supporting this worthy cause will send the right message. We are networking with other St. Andrew’s retirement communities to build an extended service family. This will offer great reassurance that Meadowlands has a full continuum of care and service for whatever service needs may arise. Flu Season is just around the corner. This year’s motto is, “Stick Out your Arm and Cause No Harm.” Getting a flu shot is the single best way to protect our residents. Resident flu shots are being scheduled. We highly recommend that staff participate by offering free flu shots. We want to offer this same benefit to our Investors. Please call the front desk of Meadowlands and we will let you know our flu shot schedule. Thank you for your support and continued interest in making Meadowlands mission of providing exceptional, loving and healing care to seniors come alive!

Dear Assisted Living at the Meadowlands Board members,

Great strides in resident-centered care, customer service and employee team work are being made by St. Andrew's Management Services, which started on September 1.

Here are some highlights:

We have started "person-centered care" and dementia care staff training. Neighborhood family and resident town hall meetings are being scheduled during

October.

If you know someone that would benefit from the Meadowlands service and amenities feel free to have them call me personally. Or, if someone you know is in need of assistance in any elder care issue, the Meadowlands and St. Andrew’s want to be the resource to meet those needs.

In gratitude for our mission and service ministry,

Sincerely Yours,

Marillyn Schaus Webb, M.A., N.H.A.Executive Director
