James 5:19-20
My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth
and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever
brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul
from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
Mark 12:30-31
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all
your strength. The second is this: You shall love your

HELP Purchase Fabric for the Baby Blanket Ministry
This year we will be allowed to purchase our supply of
fabrics at a great discount through
John Robertson’s, Praise Hymn Fashions.
This is a great opportunity to economically purchase
excellent fabric for the baby blankets. Every year this
Ministry receives free-will donations to help offset the cost
of the fabric. Make checks out to Meadow View Church
of Christ. Hand to Sherry Grice.
HOLIDAY BASKETS OF LOVE Ministry Party, Saturday, December 5
Bowles’ Home 6:30 p.m. We started this Holiday Baskets of Love Ministry in 2000 and since that time we have made 1,400 baskets for our Meadow View senior Christians and shut-ins. With God's help, we plan to continue again this year. These baskets are filled with fruits, goodies and much love! They bring joy to the receiver and to those who help with this ministry. Would you like to help? We need baskets (just recycle those baskets at home). We also need MONEY to buy fruits and items for the baskets. Then we need your help on December 5th to put the baskets together.
PLEASE, help us share and care this year!
Information: See the Bowles or the Kofahls

ISRAEL AND THE PROMISED LAND
The European Union (EU) upset Israel last week when regulators voted to drop the label "Made in Israel" from products manufactured in Israeli settlements that the EU considers to be rightful Palestinian territories. These areas include east Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and the West Bank. Many Bible-believing people
believe that Israel lastingly has a claim to that land.
God promised Abraham that he would give to his offspring "the land from the Wadi of Egypt (the Wadi al-Arish-MH) to the great river, the Euphrates" (Gen.
15:18 NIV) once the Amorites' iniquity reached full measure (cf. Gen. 15:16). The land vomited out the Amorites and Canaanites for their sins (Lev. 18:28) when Joshua led the Israelites in a seven-year conquest of the land. When Joshua distributed the land to the Israelite tribes in Shiloh (cf. Josh. 18:1), God's land promise to Abraham was fulfilled. Joshua 21:45 says, "Not one of the LORD's
good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled" (NIV). "And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as
far as the border of Egypt" (1 Ki. 4:21 NIV).
Joshua warned Israel that their possession of the Promised Land was conditioned upon their faithfulness to God. He said, "If you violate the covenant of the LORD
your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them, the LORD's anger will burn against you, and you will quickly perish
from the good land he has given you" (Josh. 23:16 NIV). This of course was fulfilled during the eleventh year of the reign of King Zedekiah (586 B.C.).
Babylon conquered Judah; "so Judah went into captivity, away from her land" (2 Ki. 25:21 NIV).
Of course, after 70 years in captivity, Israel was restored to its land (2 Chron.
36:20ff). However, Israel's occupation was only partial and temporary. In response to its murder of Jesus, God sent the Roman army under Titus to destroy
Jerusalem (cf. Matt. 22:7).
The New Testament doesn't repeat the land promise to fleshly Israel. Rather, it allegorizes the promise and gives it to Christians, the true children of Abraham by faith (Rom. 4:9-17; Matt. 5:5). It says of Abraham, "For he was looking forward to
the city with foundations [which is "a heavenly one" (v. 16 NIV), not an earthly one--MH] whose architect and builder is God" (Heb. 11:10 NIV). And just before the A.D. 70 destruction of Jerusalem, Hebrews 13:14 said, "For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come" (NIV), that
is, the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2).
Israel is a great democratic ally to the U.S. in a very unstable part of the world, but they aren't God's people (cf. Hos. 1:9) any longer apart from faith in Christ
(Rev. 2:9; Rom. 11:17-24). --Mike--
