• How to deliver Earth observation data nowadays ?
• How to efficiently help users for data exploitation ?
• How to better promote exploitation results ?
– In particular: EO-based value-added products
• Ground Motion Velocity Maps
• Displacement Time-series, …
SaaS “Software-as-a-Service”
– Offer your EO processor on the platform as a Service
– With your data selection
PaaS “Platform-as-a-Service”
– Cloud Sandboxes “processor incubation chambers”
– Extension capacity HPC cluster
– Catalogue for EO dataset and time series
– Data Storage for mirroring or caching data
Cloud Platform
Data Agency
Interoperate with
Data Providers
Geohazard Supersites VA4– ERS, ENVISAT, ALOS,
TerraSAR-X, COSMO-SkyMed
Scientific Hub– Sentinel 1, Sentinel 2
USGS– Landsat 8
Schedule User Processing
Select data on a regular basis- Time driven
- Data driven
Manage the processing
Publish Results- New collection on catalogues
- Time series
• Satellite sensors => increasing amounts of data.
• Researchers need more computational science tools and services !
• With GEP, scientists access different data types, relevant to the
same area and phenomena, and directly stage selected inputs to
scalable processing applications that deliver EO-based science
products.
• Concept of operation : improved collaboration
– A user can access large data repositories
– A user can bring its processing tools
– A user can use from his workspace other shared toolboxes.
• Openness: GEP is based on Open Source Software components, on
a Cloud Services architecture, is associating the scientific
community and SMEs in implementing new capabilities.
