Problem 1:

The following information of an operators output for six days.

Days Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

Output 500 550 480 400 350 450

Output below standard = time wage

Output at standard = time wage + 20% bonus

Output above standard = higher piece rate on entire production

The hourly rate of an operator = $10

Higher piece rate = $2.5/pc

Standard output per day = 400 pcs and assume each day has 8 working hours.

Compute the operators Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays salary.

Solution:

Thursday 400 time wage + 20% bonus 8 hours x $10/hour + (8 hours x

$10/hour) x 20% = $96
