The MRC Annual Global Summit is a great opportunity for MCP’s to network with other professionals, find out about the latest developments in appliances and myofunctional orthodontic techniques as well as learn about the most recent advances in patient education and compliance programs. The five-day summit includes workshops regarding how to diagnose and treat airway dysfunction and TMJ disorder as well as advanced myofunctional orthodontic and expansion techniques course presented by MRC CEO and founder Dr. Chris Farrell and other leading practitioners.

Dr. Flutter has practiced general dentistry and orthodontics for thirty-seven years, gaining his qualification as a dentist at Kings College Hospital Dental School at the University of London in December 1971 before moving to Australia in 1977.

He now works exclusively in dentofacial orthopaedic and orthodontic treatment for

adults and children. He has been involved with MRC for over a decade, presenting lectures on myofunctional influences on facial growth and the dentition in 66 countries during the last twelve years.

Dr. John Flutter BDS London - Dental Surgeon

Dr. German Ramirez- Yañez has more than 25 years of experience in treating malocclusion in its earlier stages and guiding craniofacial growth and development by using a functional approach. He has published more than 20 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals regarding functional appliances and the biological rationale for myofunctional treatments. His books titled “Early Treatment of Malocclusions:

Prevention and Interception in Primary Dentition” and “Guiding Craniofacial Growth and Development with The Myobrace System™” takes an in-depth look at craniofacial growth and development, the patho-physiology of functional disorders in the craniocervico-mandibular system and how the craniofacial structures are modified by functional appliances.

Dr. German Ramirez-Yañez

Dr. Barry Raphael has practiced orthodontics for 33 years. During this time, he has adopted all the lastest advances modern orthodontic treatment has to offer, including functional orthodontics, low-force, low-friction techniques, and accelerated orthodontic techniques. Although Dr. Raphael has been practicing orthodontics for over 3 decades, he recognised the benefits of myofunctional

therapy in his practice about 7 years ago. He now has first-hand experience in moving from a “tooth-centric” philosophy of orthodontic mechanotherapy to a “muscle centric” philosophy of orofacial development. Dr. Raphael offers clinical insight into the changes he’s made in his own practice and where he thinks orthodontic practice and education are heading.

Dr. Barry Rapheal - Orthodontist

Dr. Chris Farrell graduated from Sydney University in 1971 having gained a comprehensive knowledge of traditional orthodontic treatment using the BEGG technique. As a result of his clinical experience he became interested in TMJ/TMD disorder and after further research discovered the etiology of malocclusion and TMJ disorder was myofunctional, which contradicted the established view of his profession. Dr. Farrell founded

Myofunctional Research Co. (MRC) in 1989 with the intent to develop a myofunctional orthodontic system targeted at treating the upper airway and neuromuscular dysfunction causing malocclusion. Dr. Farrell’s Myobrace® and Trainer treatment systems have proven extremely effective at providing early, preventive pre-orthodontic treatment and are now used by dental professionals in more than 100 countries.
