Residence Permit for Cyprus

Buying a property of 300,000 Euros and above allows the purchaser to apply for permanent residency immediately. Cyprus has introduced a speedy procedure that only takes up to 60 days.
Once PR is given the purchaser only needs to visit Cyprus once every 2 years and have their papers stamped. This allows the client easy access to the rest of the EU from Cyprus.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY TERMINAL BY VITOL
The construction of an international energy terminal has started by the largest energy trader in the world – VITOL – 1,000 new jobs will be created during the construction period, which will last until 2014. The operation of the facility will add €16 billion to public assets on an annual basis. The project is expected to cost €220 million.
UNDERWATER ELECTRICITY POWER CABLE
Cyprus began a feasibility study for the construction of an underwater electric cable connecting the Eastern Mediterranean to Europe. The Euro-Asia Interconnector will stretch 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) in total at a maximum depth of 2,000 meters, making it the most ambitious project ever of its kind, the cable itself will take three years to build.
An investment of €1.5 billion over 3 years.

Triple Five Group, a finance and development company from Canada is investing in Cyprus, Expected investments to reach €500 million.

The Chinese Connection
Cyprus as an international financial centre is an ideal tax efficient gateway for channelling Chinese investments anywhere in the world as well as for facilitating investment into China itself. The Double Tax Treaty between China and Cyprus Strengthens the financial ties of the two countries, enhancing and promoting further the scope for tax efficient investment opportunities.
The Cypriot government are currently creating legal framework for operation of up to 5 casinos on the island. The owner of Las Vegas Sands Casino has approached the government with a view to creating a casino resort in Cyprus.
