Co-op Engineering Student May 2015 - August 2015

Maritime Electric Co. Ltd., PE May 2016 - August 2016

I worked in the engineering department overseeing production and energy supply. I was

responsible for creating engineering drawings, overseeing the construction of a fuel

heater expansion project, tracking work hours of heavy equipment, creating daily

progress reports, acting as site monitor for the installation of a $140 million undersea

power cable, dealing with international colleagues, First Nations representatives,

government officials, and Environmental Monitors.

I conducted communications and negotiations with external contractors, wrote tenders

and RFP’s for future projects, and arranged meetings and safety orientations to ensure all

staff were properly trained in the dangerous environment of electrical substations.

Student Consulting Engineer January 2014 - May 2014

University of Prince Edward Island, PE

This particular project involved developing an endoscopic housing for a radiance fiber, to

be used in the detection of prostate cancer. Our team gained critical experience in the use

of CAD modeling software and 3D printing technologies

Most importantly this work experience highlighted the importance of the engineering

profession, and how our dedication can translate into the improved life quality of another

human being.

Shipping and Packaging Assistant May 2014 - August 2014

PEI Mussel King, PE

I worked a number of general positions as a member of the PEI Mussel King staff.

Duties ranged from trouble shooting mechanical issues with packaging and delivery

equipment, working on the assembly line, managing shipments, overseeing orders and

warehouse supplies.

The safety of my fellow workers was always a top priority. It was the responsibility of

all to look out for the wellbeing of each other in this fast pace environment.

General Laborer July 2012 - August 2013

CMC Construction, NL

Working as a general laborer for my family’s company gave me my first insight into

business practices, meeting project budget and schedule requirements.
