1.0BIRTHDAYCELEBRATIONS

MaryMarfocelebratedher15thbirthdayonthetwelfthofthismonth.Maryisthefirstgirlto

celebrateherbirthdayintheyear2013.Herbirthdaycame

withlotsofexcitementsinceitwasafewdaysafter

ChristmasandtheNewYear.Thewholefamilyjoinedto

praiseGodforprovidingherwithalifefullofstrength,

wisdomandsuccess.Asthefamilydoesallthetime,we

prayedforherandeachchildsaidwordsofblessingupon

herlife.

Maryhasbeenanexampletoheryoungersisters

academically.Herexcellentacademicrecordhaschallenged

theyoungeronestoalsoworkandstudyhardtobethebest

studentsintheirclass.

homeworkandpreparoundthehouse.Healso

teachesthechildrenthebible.Heis

responsibleformanagingourmonthlyfinancial

statementsandactivityreportsforthefamily.

Welovehimsomuch!

Onhisbirthday,thewholefamilyprayedfor

himandblessedhimforbeingablessingto

them.HecurrentlyworkswithEcobankand

makessurethathevisitsthechildrenregularly

afterwork.

ItwasalljoyandexcitmentwhenlittleAsantewaaMarfowasdressedinhercolourfulschool

uniformonthe26thofJanuary,2013readytoembarkonhereducationaladventure.Asantewaa,the

youngestladyinthehousewasveryenthusiastictostartschooling.Herfirstdayatschoolwasvery

challengingbutshewasabletosustainherselftillclosingtime.

Herteacherssaysheisdoingwell.Weresoexcitedforher!

3.0VISITS

StudentsfromSheffieldHallamUniversitys(UK)EarlyChildEducation

Programvisitedthechildrenonthe6th

ofJanuary,2013aspartoftheircurriculumforthesemester.AuntieKimwhoisanalumnusof

theschoolledtheteam.She

testifiedtothemaboutthegreat

workAuntieAdowaisdoingand

howshehasbeenablessing.

AuntieAdowasharedabrief

historyofthehomeandtalked

aboutwhatdrivesherinthisministry.Afterthat,thestudents

hadtheopportunitytohangoutwiththechildrenandhavefun.

ThechildrentaughtthemhowtospeaksomeGhanaianlanguagesand

playedsomegames.Theleaderofthedelegationwasreallytouched

bywhatshesawinthehouseandthestorybehindtheestablishment

ofthehome.Shepledgedhersupporttothehome.

Onthe19thMissJamelaMohammed,thefounderofAWALKINMYSHOES(AWIMS),visitedthe

family.Shesharedhowithasbeenherpassiontoalwaysseesmilesandjoyonthefacesofneedy

children.

Shebroughtlotsoffoodandgroceriesforthe

home.Wearesograteful!Shehasbeenablessing

totheMarfoFamilyeversinceshemetus.

Everyonehadagoodtimewithherfriendsandher.

Weallateanddrankwell.Afterwardswedanced

offthecalories!Theyencouragedthechildrento

studyhardtobecomegreatmenandwomenin

future.
