Principal’s Corner

Dear Parents,

We received the following anonymous ICE comment:

“Why does this school allow people to park at the entrance to the front driveway blocking the center lane? Not only does this prevent emergency vehicles from getting to the school but it also causes cars to back up into the street. The school principal sees this happening on rainy days especially and just laughs it off. Please regulate and enforce the no parking zones so people aren't parking in areas that cause this problem.”

The school assumed that parents would do the “right” thing when we restructured the way students arrive and depart school. We made it very clear that parents of Kindergarten, Sure Start, and PSCD children would be the only ones who would go through the front of the school. We also stated that parents should only take 1-3 minutes to drop off students and in the afternoon they should pick up their student and move on.

The enforcement of traffic belongs to PMO, not the school. We can only ask parents to do what is right for everyone. As for the comment about the principal, I am not sure whom the anonymous writer is referring to since I do dismissal from within the school.

Parents of Kindergarten, Sure Start, and PSCD students, please be mindful of everyone else and keep the flow of traffic moving.

On a separate note; we at M.C. Perry Elementary School would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season! Classes will resume on 2 January 2019.
