MBS PCI SCOPE REDUCTION:MBS OPENEDGE PAYMENT PROCESSING

3www.cdg.ws
With the 4.0 release of MBS, credit card processing will change in two important ways
MBS software and servers will no longer “touch” credit card dataMBS will launch an embedded OpenEdge payment screen within MBS to capture payment details
MBS will no longer store credit cardsAs OpenEdge processes credit card transactions, they will return a “token” that represents the card, and MBS will store that value as needed for submitting future transactions
PCI “OUT OF SCOPE”

4www.cdg.ws
MBS will store the last 4 digits of the credit card, meaning extraction of credit card numbers from MBS will no longer be possible
Expiration date will continue to be stored
CDG tools will continue to exist
OpenEdge supports automatic update of credit card numbers and expiration dates (Decline Minimizer)
Tokens link to credit cards stored in OpenEdge to support credit card reuse and auto-pay (Managed Payer Data)
In the 4.0 release, we will “tokenize” your payment data

CPE MAINTENANCE:CUSTOMER PREMISE EQUIPMENT PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS

25www.cdg.ws
MBS already supports managing and provisioning your CPE, but we have plans to improve the process and management:
Add the ability to manage CPE outside of Customer Care
Support equipment reservations
Make it easier (and in some cases, automatic) to set the appropriate location as equipment is installed, moved and returned
Add support for inventory quantity controls
MBS CPE IMPROVEMENTS – OVERVIEW

26www.cdg.ws
Allow users to make equipment changes from Task Management, Trouble, and Plant
For pending installs, the equipment would inherit the pending install session
The system would create a new session, if needed (such as for swapping out equipment for a Trouble Ticket)
The system will issue a warning if the Subscriber is locked
MANAGING CPE OUTSIDE OF CUSTOMER CARE

27www.cdg.ws
During an install, you can reserve a quantity of equipment by type and model
Reservations will be replaced with actual equipment, later in the install process (w/flexibility)
We will display reservations numbers on the Equipment Master summary screen, and in Dashboards
If warehouses are tied to service areas, we can reserve equipment from the correct warehouse
As reservations are entered, low inventory warnings will display
MBS CPE – RESERVATIONS

28www.cdg.ws
CPE can be shared cross services (e.g. ONTs)
This sharing can span Subscribers (such as multiple businesses sharing an ONT)
Inventory control min/max values can be set to support reorder warnings and identify surplus equipment
MBS CPE – SHARING, CONTROL

29www.cdg.ws
The MBS equipment table already includes an optional location
We will add the ability to set the location value when outing equipment
MBS users can have a default location (such as themselves, their truck, front desk, warehouse 1, etc.), so “outted” equipment will default to that location
We will phase out the current Truck and Warehouse status values, and replace them with Available
MBS CPE – LOCATIONS

30www.cdg.ws
We will create an Equipment Transfer batch, to give users the ability to quickly change the locations of several pieces of equipment
Equipment scanned into a list
Equipment tied to an account
Equipment tied to an Install or PD session
Equipment locations can optionally be associated with service areas, allowing the system to default the expected equipment location for an install
