MB departs from Houston to Belize located on the east coast of northern

Central America.



First, he crossed the Mopan River which discharges to the Belize River and merges

with the Macal River then into the Caribbean Sea.

Xunantunich(Shoo-nan-two-nich)


MB had an excellent guide named Fidelio.


Xunantunich is just a few miles from Belize’s western border with Guatemala.


El Castillo, rises 130 feet above the main plaza at the Xunantunich

Archaeological site.


There were spider and howler monkeys above! Howler monkeys are good

swimmers, have excellent vision and can see up to one-half mile.


Caracol Maya Temple is the largest Maya site in Belize and one of the biggest in

the Maya world.


Caracol was a Classic Period urban center that spread out over approx 55 square miles.


To this day Caracol is the largest man-made structure in Belize standing 42

meters (137 ft).


Rio on Pools, Mountain Pine Ridge in Belize are a continuous series of pools

formed by large granite boulders.


Many of the small pools are connected by cascading water falls.


Next, MB boarded a very small 12 passenger plane to Ambergris Caye.



Ambergris Caye is the largest island of Belize. The only town on the island is San

Pedro.

There are over 4,000 flowering plants, 250 species of orchards and approx 700 different types of trees in Belize.


Belize iguana is locally known as the bamboo chicken.


A popular tourist spot is Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley which covers 3 square

miles.
