DTL GP – Southern Counties 17 & 18 September 2011 Southern counties held their annual Grand Prix and as usual it was well supported by members of Mayland Gun Club. As is the norm for this event there were blustery conditions on the Saturday, but this was not enough to stop Matthew Holley from shooting his first 100 straight (100/290) well done Matthew. Sunday saw the addition of rain to go with the wind, luckily no fog for the early starts! By lunch time there were a number of nervous Mayland club members eagerly awaiting results of those still shooting and by 14:45 all the scores were in!! Matthew took first place in the Juniors along with a brand new Fausti 12g sporter, Bryan Farr took first place in the Vets also picking up a gun, Nathan Hodgkins took 2 nd place in A class, Dave Lewzey took 2 nd in B class, Roger Seeley took 5 th & Shane Maynard took 2 nd place in C class. Well done to all those who made the trip and many thanks to Nathan who submitted this report. The Essex Seniors team came 5th overall.

The South East Individual Championship was hosted at Mayland GC on the 10th of July in partially overcast, rather muggy conditions.
Essex Shooters flourished with Troy Petherbridge taking the Senior title with 100/296, Pam Dorrington became Lady Champion and David Argent was top Colt. Congratulations also go to John Parry from London who took Vets with 99/296 and Karl Williams who travelled all the way from Berkshire and shot a very respectable 97/279 to take Juniors.

The Essex DTL Championship was held at Mayland where Bryan Farr became champion shooting 100/294. Bruce Cain took the Vets, Lisa Cardnell the Ladies, Ross Smith the Juniors and Matthew Holley was top Colt.
