First Reading

Reader: Thomas Black

Song of Songs 2:8-10,14,16a; 8:6-7aLove is as strong as death

I hear my Beloved.See how he comesleaping on the mountains,bounding over the hills.My Beloved is like a gazelle,like a young stag.See where he standsbehind our wall.He looks in at the window,he peers through the lattice.My beloved lifts up his voice,he says to me,‘Come then, my love,my lovely one, come.’My dove, hiding in the clefts of the rock,in the coverts of the cliff,show me your face,let me hear your voice;

for your voice is sweetand your face is beautiful.’My Beloved is mine and I am his.Set me like a seal on your heart,like a seal on your arm.For love is strong as Death,jealousy relentless as Sheol.The flash of it is a flash of fire,a flame of the Lord himself.Love no flood can quench,no torrents drown.

The word of the Lord.R. Thanks be to God

Second Reading

Reader: Sam Black

A reading from the Book of the Apocalypse (19:1, 5-9a)Happy are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the lamb.

I, John, seemed to hear the great sound of a huge crowd in heaven, singing, ‘Alleluia! Vic-tory and glory and power to our God!’ Then a voice came from the throne; it said, ‘Praise our God, you servants of his and all who, great or small, revere him.’ And I seemed to hear the voices of a huge crowd, like the sound of the ocean or the great roar of thunder, answering, “Alleluia! The reign of the Lord our God Almighty has begun; let us be glad and joyful and give praise to God, because this is the time for the marriage of the Lamb. His bride is ready, and she has been able to dress herself in dazzling white linen, because her linen is made of the good deeds of the saints.” The angel said, “Write this: Happy are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the lamb.”

The word of the Lord.

R. Thanks be to God

Gospel Acclamation

[All Stand]

The ‘Alleluia’, which precedes the Gospel reading, is sung by Isaac Withers

Alleluia! Alleluia!As long as we love one another God will live in us, and his love will be complete in us. Alleluia! (1 Jn 4:7b)

Reading from the Gospel

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (2:1-11)This was the first of the signs given by Jesus - at Cana in Galilee.

Pr. The Lord be with you.R. And with your spirit.

Pr. A reading from the holy Gospel according to John.R. Glory to you, O Lord.

There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. When they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the wedding was all finished, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman why turn to me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the serv-ants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. ‘Draw some out now,’ he told them, ‘and take it to the steward.’ They did this; the steward tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from – only the servants who had drawn the water knew – the steward called the bridegroom and said, ‘People generally serve the best wine first, and keep the cheaper sort till the guests have had plenty to drink, but you have kept the best wine till now.’ This was the first of the signs given by Jesus; it was given at Cana in Galilee. He let his glory be seen, and his disciples believed in him.

Pr. The Gospel of the Lord.R. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Pr. It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,always and everywhere to give you thanks,Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,through Christ our Lord.

For in him you have made a new covenant with your people,so that, as you have redeemed man and womanby the mystery of Christ’s Death and Resurrection,so in Christ you might make them partakers of divine natureand joint heirs with him of heavenly glory.

In the union of husband and wifeyou give a sign of Christ’s loving gift of grace,so that the Sacrament we celebrate might draw us back more deeplyinto the wondrous design of your love.

And so, with the Angels and all the Saints,we praise you, and without end we acclaim:

The Sanctus

Holy, Holy, HolyLord God of hosts.Heaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna in the highest.

[The People Kneel]

Eucharistic Prayer III

Pr. You are indeed Holy, O Lord,and all you have createdrightly gives you praise,for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,by the power and working of the Holy Spirit,you give life to all things and make them holy,and you never cease to gather a people to yourself,so that from the rising of the sun to its settinga pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.

Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you:by the same Spirit graciously make holythese gifts we have brought to you for consecration,that they may become the Body and Bloodof your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.

For on the night he was betrayedhe himself took bread,and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,FOR THIS IS MY BODY,WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

The priest shows the consecrated host to the people, places it again on the paten, andgenuflects in adoration.

In a similar way, when supper was ended,he took the chalice,and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANYFOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

The priest shows the chalice to the people, places it on the altar and genuflects in adoration.

(Sung) Pr. The mystery of faith.R: We proclaim your Death, O Lord,and profess your Resurrectionuntil you come again.

The Priest continues:Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorialof the saving Passion of your Son,his wondrous Resurrection

and Ascension into heaven,and as we look forward to his second coming,we offer you in thanksgivingthis holy and living sacrifice.

Look, we pray, upon the oblation of your Churchand, recognising the sacrificial Victim by whose deathyou willed to reconcile us to yourself,grant that we, who are nourishedby the Body and Blood of your Sonand filled with his Holy Spirit,may become one body, one spirit in Christ.

May he make of usan eternal offering to you,so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect,especially with the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,with blessed Joseph, her Spouse,with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs(with Saints Quiteria, Francis, Pope John Paul II, Clare, Joseph),and with all the Saints,on whose constant intercession in your presencewe rely for unfailing help.

May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation,we pray, O Lord,advance the peace and salvation of all the world.Be pleased to confirm in faith and charityyour pilgrim Church on earth,with your servant Francis our Pope and Peter our Bishop,the Order of Bishops, all the clergy,and the entire people you have gained for your own.Listen graciously to the prayers of this family,whom you have summoned before you.

Strengthen, we pray, in the grace of Marriage Joseph and Rosemary,whom you have brought happily to their wedding day,that under your protectionthey may always be faithful in their livesto the covenant they have sealed in your presence.In your compassion, O merciful Father,gather to yourself all your childrenscattered throughout the world.

To our departed brothers and sistersand to all who were pleasing to youat their passing from this life,give kind admittance to your kingdom.There we hope to enjoy for ever the fullness of your glorythrough Christ our Lord,through whom you bestow on the world all that is good.

The Priest takes the chalice and the paten with the host and, raising both, he sings:Pr. Through him, and with him, and in him,O God, almighty Father,in the unity of the Holy Spirit,all glory and honour is yours,for ever and ever.R. Amen.

A very special thank you to everyone at Craig Lodge who worked so hard in so many ways for this day to happen -

Ruth and Ken Black, Rory and Eileen MacKinnon, Andrew Whittaker, Denise Roberts, Joanne Ford, and everyone who

has shown us special support in preparing the House to receive guests, putting up the tent, or simply being there with a cup of

tea when things were a little stressful.

Much gratitude also to Martha, Stephen and the Milne Family for all they did from afar to help us both through this time

and get things ready for the day! A special shout out to Emily Hawkins, Rosie’s sister, who could not be present (she’s having a baby!) but was always available at the end of the phone when

questions cropped up.

We love you all!

Thank you for joining us for this special celebration of our wedding and marriage.

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
