Mentor B.I. Chandhok receives the lifetime achievement award for his
immense contribution to the field of motorsports in the country
The Lifetime Achievement award was given to Mr. B.I. Chandhok. An avid racer and a founder of FMSCI, Mr. Chandhok has served the motorsports fraternity in various roles and the gathering saluted the man for his lifelong achievements. He was awarded the trophy by Dr. Vijay Mallya - Chairman FMSCI, amidst rousing applause. Dr. Mallya hailed Mr. Chandhok’s passion for motorsports and called him the father of motorsports in India. In his address to the gathering, “I am extremely privileged to be associated with the FMSCI, being a motor sport enthusiast, I feel honoured to see the progression of motor sports in India. I would like to congratulate all recipients of the awards tonight and wish them all the best for the coming year.” Talking about the need for more sponsors in the sport, he further added, “I would like to invite sponsors to come forward and extend their support towards motor sports in the country. It is with their support alone that we can unleash our true potential.”

Very Often we in 41 Clubs
have discussed about the
challenges that lie before us, to
keep the movement
vibrant and therefore growing.
One of the key and the most
important being, to rekindle the
feeling of camaraderie,
fellowship and a sense of
belonging among the members
of all clubs.
The one single most important
factor that I identified for the
lack of it was the exchange of
information, between the
different clubs. The members
of clubs spread across the
length and breadth of the
country wanted to know what
other 41ers were doing.
I have tried to bridge this gap
by disseminating whatever
information was made
available to me. What started
out be a small effort to connect
the NEX with the members
became much bigger than
anticipated. It was exciting.
Clubs and Areas vied with each
other to send pictures of
various events which were then
posted on the Facebook page
which was initiated by me in
2013-2014
THE INFORMATION
POSTED ON Facebook
included:
Information and pictures of
1. New Club Charters
2. Mid Term Meets
3. The YAP tours, both North
and South
4. The National AGM and
International HYM.
5. International Monthly
Communiqué and other Events
6. Board and Council Meets
7. Any other information or
event concerning the 41ers.
The dissemination of
information is only worthwhile
if it reaches a large audience
and critical mass is achieved.
To be able to do this
„information feed‟ at regular
intervals is essential coupled
with uploading the same
promptly.
The Facebook page is viewed
by National and International
41ers and has developed a
viewership of around 2500. A
screenshot of the page activity
from Facebook is reproduced
hereunder:
A continuous flow of
Information together with
pictures should be timely sent
on WhatsApp or email to
will get even more visibility
with continued and interesting
updation.

5 Uncommon Health Tests You Should Ask Your Doctor About
Regular health screenings, such as a colonoscopy or blood pressure reading, are key to detecting
problems early — before they lead to something serious. Yet we are surprisingly lax about getting
recommended tests. Less than 25 per cent of ages 50 to 64 and less than half of those over age 65 are
up to date on screenings. But, preventive services, including screenings, can save lives and promote
well-being.
Aside from the better-known, recommended tests, here are five less-common tests you should talk to
your doctor about to see if you should be screened.
1. C-Reactive Protein (CRP): People over 40 with certain risk factors (slightly elevated cholesterol,
a large waistline, a family history of heart disease or being overweight) should get the blood test,
which detects the presence of C-reactive proteins—indicators of inflammation in the body. According
to the American Heart Association, high levels of C-reactive proteins double the likelihood of
suffering cardiac arrest, compared to low levels. A test result greater than 3.0 milligram per litre
(mg/L) suggests a higher risk for heart disease and heart attack.
2. Depression: A depression screening may be in order if you are feeling unusually sad or hopeless
and have lost interest in activities that once gave you pleasure for two weeks in a row. Your doctor
can do a simple screening—essentially, having you respond to a series of questions—and refer you
for treatment, if needed.
3. Hepatitis C: Everyone born between 1945 and 1965 should have a one-time blood test to detect
this disease. According to research, baby boomers are six times more likely to have Hepatitis C.
Experts suggests this may be due to be risky behaviours like recreational drug use, which were
prevalent in the „60s and „70s, as well as the fact that disposable needles were not available at that
time for medical procedures and transfusions. As many as 75 per cent of cases go undiagnosed, yet
Hepatitis C can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis and cancer. Luckily there are now good treatments that
are more effective and have fewer side effects than those of the past.
4. Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Women over 60 are prone to underactive thyroid
(hypothyroidism). Although many doctors regularly test patients‟ levels of the hormone to test the
functioning of the thyroid gland, you should ask, particularly if you are symptoms, such as
experiencing fatigue, increased sensitivity to cold, constipation, dry skin and unexplained weight
gain. People with overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) experience rapid heart rate, nervousness,
tremor and sweating. A result between 0.4 to 4.0 milli-international units per liter (mIU/L).
5. Vitamin D: A surprising number—75 per cent of teens and adults—are deficient in the “sunshine
vitamin,” which not only helps keep bones and muscles strong but may help lower your risk for
cancer and heart disease and bolster your immune system. Ask your doctor for a 25-hydroxy vitamin
D blood test to determine how much vitamin D is in your body. Many experts recommend a level
between 20 and 40 Nano grams per millilitre (ng/ml).
It is my honour and privilege to invite you for the very first
Tangent MTM to be held on 2nd April, 2016 at Gurgaon.
We are also planning an auction of some art pieces, the proceeds of which will be used for Projects and for Tangent corpus to make our association robust and healthy. We hope
you will participate in it to make this a success.
