Easter Blessings!
Many thanks to all who made our Holy Week services so meaningful this year. I need espe-
cially to thank Cindy McLean and Phil & Sharon Worrell for all they did to make prepare our Se-
der Meal; Lori Scissors, Cindy Henning, Loretta Brandon, the choir, and the brass for the beautiful
music on Friday evening and Sunday morning. Our staff works especially hard during the Lenten
and Easter season, so please thank them for all they do to make worship meaningful at Arlington.
This Lenten season, we read a book together about miracles. Mike Slaughter insists that
miracles happen when we say YES when God comes calling. I believe that God has come calling at
Arlington in a couple of new ways.
We have a possibility to partner with “Youth In Need” to provide space for counseling for
families who live in the Pattonville School District. We still are waiting on approval for the grant
money that would pay for this new service in the area. I am very hopeful that we will be able to
provide this blessing for our community, and will let you know as this process develops.
We also have the opportunity to become a site for feeding lunch to children in the neigh-
borhood this summer. As plans are developing, it looks like we will serve lunch three days a week –
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This is exactly the “Big, Hairy, Audacious God Idea” that
Mike Slaughter tells us is a miracle waiting to happen! I am a bit scared, but very excited about how
God wants to use us for the children in our community! We will begin the first week of June, and
continue through August 10. I will let you know more as I have more information.
God is alive and moving in our community!

Worship Highlights Join us in May for our upcoming
Sermon Series, “Family Ties.”
Children’s Summer Food Ministry Get ready for our food ministry this sum-
mer! Please be in prayer for the families
of our neighborhood and our church as
we gear up for this new outreach minis-
try! We need your prayers, AND your
participation. In order for us to succeed,
we will need people who will volunteer
to be present and help with set up and
clean up. The food is catered, so there is
no food prep involved. You can volun-
teer for a day, a week, a month, or for
the whole ten weeks.
You’re Invited! A Leadership Team Strategic Planning
meeting will be taking place here at Ar-
lington on Saturday, May 4th at 10:00
a.m. If you’re interested in the next
steps we will take as a congregation,
please plan to attend this planning
meeting. We’ll be glad to see each and
every one of you!

The Mission Team
GAME NIGHT JUST FOR FUN! Let’s have another game night! On Fri-
day, May 3rd, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm,
let’s meet in Fellowship Hall for
GAME NIGHT. Bring a snack or two
to share and your favorite games. We
can set up our wonderful round tables
and everyone can pick what game they
want to play. We need cards, old board
games, new games, even teach some-
thing new to friends! Just for fun! For
more information contact Loretta at
church.
Mother’s Day Doin’s
Team Jesus will again lead the worship
services this Mother’s day on May 12th.
The youth bells will provide beautiful
music, then enjoy the singing and read-
ing of some of our youngest peeps.
Don’t miss out! See you there!
Egg Hunt & Breakfast Fun Another great Easter Breakfast was cele-
brated on April 20th
with the Family Coun-
cil, Outreach team, and the youth doing a
terrific job! We had about 130 people in
attendance including church families, day-
care families, kids from Chateau Du Mont,
and families from La Trinidad congrega-
tion. Thanks so much for those of you at-
tended and those who worked very hard!
See you next Easter!
Thank you!
Prayer Partners Needed for Summer Mission Trips Plans for summer mission trips are in full
swing! Lots of work goes into planning a
mission trip, and all kinds of volunteers
are needed. Everyone can be involved
even if you can't attend a trip. Prayer
Partners are needed for the Sr. High and
Middle School Mission trips. The Sr.
High trip is June 15-21 as the kids and
adults will be headed to North Carolina
this year to a Methodist organization
called The Hinton Center. The middle
school hope to travel closer to home in
July. A Prayer Partner is a simple but im-
portant part of these trips. We ask that a
Prayer Partner pray for a specific individ-
ual on the trip, as well as for the success
and safety of the entire group. Prayer
Partners are also asked to put together a
simple goodie bag for the person they
are praying for. This bag may include
snacks, notes, and things to do on the
car ride to our destination. If you would
like to participate in our Prayer Partner
program, please contact Loretta Bran-
don, 314-739-0434, ext. 24, or lbran-
Graduation Sunday
Youth or adults in the Arlington
Church family who are graduating
from high school, tech school, college,
or graduate school this year are asked
to contact the church office, 314-739-
0434, ext. 110, by Monday, May 13th.
We will need the graduate’s name,
school, and degree obtained. All grad-
uates will be recognized during the
worship service on Sunday, May 19th.
For those Arlington members gradu-
ating from high school, college, gradu-
ate school, or a tech school, please
join the Education and Higher Educa-
tion committees as they provide
breakfast for you and your family at
9:00 am in Fellowship Hall on May
19th.
JAM is coming! Spring is springing and so is JAM (Jesus
and Me). We will meet in the evening each
Wednesday in June. Children ages 3
through middle school completed are in-
vited to attend. Here is what we need from
you:
• Invite, invite, invite!
• Pray for God's power and presence
during JAM!
• Your participation as a volunteer (sign-
up sheet is in the Great Hall)!
• Donations!
