AMY’S CORNERI would like to take this opportunity
to say a big thank you to some very generousfriends of the Senior Center. As some of you
may know, a television was recently pur-chased for our lobby which will show coming events and pictures from our recent festivi-

The Families of Dorothy Abt, Alice Martin and Roy Schnee and the Silly Sassy Shelby Sis-
ters. Additionally, we received a sizeable do-nation from the family of Sue Miller which will be used to help purchase a new bingo board. Thank you very much for remembering our

A LITTLE HUMOROxymorons
1. Why is the third hand on a watch called the second hand? 2. If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know? 3. If Webster wrote the first dictionary, where did he find the words? 4. Why do we say something is out of of whack? What is whack? 5. Why does “slow down” and “slow up” mean the same thing? 6. Why does “fat chance” and “slim chance” mean the same thing? 7. Why is it called “after dark” when it is really after light? 8. Doesn’t “expecting the unexpected” make the unexpected expected? 9. Why are “wise men” and “wise guys” the opposite.10. Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?
I DUNNO, WHY DO WE?

You must be a member of the Shelby Senior Center to travel with us. The balance on overnight trips is due at least one month in advance of departing date, Trip refunds are subject to a $7.00 cancellation fee, plus costs incurred. All refunds are given in the form of a check or household credit. Day and extended trip refunds are based on the travel company’s refunds from suppli-ers, or subject to refund policy on the trip flyer. Refunds take approximately 3 to 4 weeks, and the check will be mailed to you from the Treasurer’s Office. No refund checks will be issued if the amount due after the cancellation fee is less than $10.00. Any remaining amount will be credited to your household account and may be used for any upcoming activity. Trips depart from the Senior Center. Park on the east side of the lot, behind the library, near the dumpster. Please do not park in spaces near the building or court. Buses depart on time. For all trips originat-ing with outside travel companies such as Big Daddy, Shoreline Tours etc., the Shelby Senior Center will act solely as a booking agent. It will be the passenger’s responsibility to board the bus on time. If a passenger needs to leave the bus departure site, it is their responsibility to let the travel director/check-in person know. Buses depart on time.
