    about MBEP

Our conversations today will be enhanced by audience dialogue on Twitter and Facebook. Connect via Wifi and share your insights: Network name: Boardwalk

Please use #ES17 to share your ideas, comments, and questions.

  • Thank you for joining us at MBEP’s 3rd Annual Regional Economic Summit: Focus on Jobs.

We have chosen our Focus on Jobs theme because it is no secret that good jobs and full employment are the

foundation of a thriving region. Jobs contribute to our sense of purpose and place, and generate tax resources that

fund the services, programs, and public infrastructure needed for a rich quality of life for our communities.

We will hear today about our national, state and local economic forecasts, which will frame the context within

which we will be operating over the next few years. Our first panel will focus on how we can create more high paying

sustainable jobs in our region. The second panel will ask the question about how to pull more people up into higher

wage jobs through education, training, mentoring, career laddering and more. Listening to the feedback received

at previous conferences, the afternoon will be filled with smaller roundtable interactive discussions that will provide

the opportunity to utilize all the talent in this room to dig deeper into the topics and issues brought up in the

    morning to find regional solutions.

Finally, we will end the forum by hearing the reports of the roundtable discussions before enjoying a delicious

tasting of local wines to end our day. We are looking forward to a day filled with substantive interactions, sharing

best practices, identifying innovative solutions, and making important new connections for future collaboration.
