UPCOMING EVENTS

The needs of Community For Christ food pantry are never

ending. A list of staple items are posted on the wall above the

giving basket in the vestibule. The staples list is just suggested

items that are always in need.

Although all donations are appreciated, the below list is of

current need.

Adult diaper, sizes large and extra large.

Protein drinks such as Ensure Fruit in light syrup

Ladies Hygiene products Mustard and Catsup

Please also consider placing an added donation of cash

wrapped around the can or boxed item. A little really can go a

long way in covering the needs of our community!

The Community for Christ is manned by volunteers from

local churches in which church volunteers are rotated every 6

weeks. Please consider volunteering.

The St. Patrick Charitable Outreach ministry works together with area organizations to raise funds to assist families who are in need. Your donations have helped these families and are greatly appreciated . Please continue to support through using green border envelopes or notate in the memo portion of check Charitable Outreach.

WELCOME BACK SUMMER GUESTS

It is with great joy that we write to you in honor of Mary,

Mother of the Church and all the blessings in your life and

the lives of all the Mothers close to you. Our work from the

first appeal in 2018 is nearly complete. The fountains in all

their glory are flowing smoothly and formidable through

the new plumbing system and new pumps. The lights shine

brightly, through the new electrical panels, on the grounds

that illuminate the beautiful 14- foot stainless steel

sculpture of Mary, Mother of the Church. The restrooms for

you, our guests, are functioning well with new plumbing

and fixtures. The maintenance area used to keep the Shrine

facilities and all the Holy Ground to the utmost standard,

are clean, dry, cool and brightly lit with new electric,

heating and cooling systems.

All of this was possible because of your generosity. The

strong relationship you have fostered with the Mothers’

Shrine and the mission of honoring ALL mothers,

motherhood and family life, has helped create a strong

foundation in which you can grow in your love for Mary.

To embrace this challenge, we must provide essential

programs and continue the work of honoring all mothers,

motherhood and family life. We must finish the projects

that have not been completed. We must be good servants to

you and to the mission of the Shrine. We must continue

searching for the means to finish the phase 1 projects at a

cost of $144,767. And we must be good stewards for the

future success of the Mothers Shrine.

For 2019 phase 2 will include:

Updating the Sound system bringing sweet song and liturgy

to the ear. $20,000

Caring for the trees, bushes and flowers surrounding the

Holy Ground. $9,000

Repairing worn stone terraces and seating for our beloved

guests. $24,000

It is also our goal to build a sustaining fund that will allow

us to consistently provide a serene place of prayer to our

many guests who attend Mass here all summer and make a

Pilgrimage on this Holy Ground throughout the year. We

want YOU to be a part of this mission.

Can we come to you again, with a humble heart to ask for

your support in this next phase of Mary’s work?

Word of the Lord

Thank you all who attended the Ministry Fair last

weekend. If you were not able to attend but would

like to volunteer in the various ministries or would

like more information, please contact the parish

office.

Thank you to all our volunteers, regardless if you are

a part-timer or are a full-time parishioner, your time

is greatly appreciated. We are only as great as the

many who help.

If you signed up to join in helping in a ministry, your

information has been pasted onto the lead. You

should expect someone to contact you prior to the

next event in which you have volunteered for.

Time and Talent

Order of the Mass can be found on page 7 of the Missal. The readings for Sunday, June 2ND can be found on page 553. The page number posted on the top line of where the Hymns for the day are posted inside the Main Sanctuary.

If you would like a label will be placed inside the front cover depicting who purchased or sponsored the Missal. You can add a Memorial, or in Honor of, an individual or family if desired. Contact the Parish Office if interested.

Please note, the office is working toward resolution in providing prayers that were published on the back of the Missalette. We are looking to have this resolved soon. We will then be calling on Office Angles to

Memorial Day

Letters have been since to all past sponsors of flags. If you received a letter, please respond by June 14th if you would like to continue sponsoring the same country. After this date, Flag Sponsorship will be open to the next person requesting the specific flag. All donations are welcome if you would rather not sponsor a specific flag.

We are targeting July 1st to have all replacement flags flying high.

Everyday Stewardship

I often lead group prayer with similar words: "Give us the wisdom to know Your will for our lives and the courage to follow it as we seek to

make our community a clearer reflection of the Kingdom of God." The words acknowledge that we need to be about God's will, not our own,

and in that journey, we will bear greater witness to the transforming power of Jesus Christ.

We talk about how we are called to live a stewardship way of life and that we have been given many good gifts, but it is never truly about

us. We are never the main thing. In the same manner, it is never really about our parish. Our combined stewardship may lead to many

fruits, like an increased offertory or more vibrancy in parish life. However, it is always about the Kingdom of God and the King, Jesus Christ.

Through our stewardship, we allow our parish community to shine like a city on a hill for others to see and then be drawn toward Jesus

Christ. It is about leading people to heaven. Our actions of stewardship do not point toward us but instead to the one who calls us to this

life. Our constant prayer needs to be that we always seek to discern God's will and follow it instead of our own. By doing that, we can trans-

form our own lives, our parish communities, and then the world around us.
