“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but

the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are

different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. “

~1 Corinthians 12:4-6

All of us are blessed, regardless of our own individual circumstances; God has given each of us many gifts. How we use

those gifts is our gift back to God. For God’s plan to work, each must do what

we are called to do and guess what— we are not all called to do the

same thing!

May is one of the months dedicated to the honor of Mary. Over the centuries there have been many reported apparitions of Mary. Many of these the Church regards as private revelations. These are messages meant for that particular person or persons. The church has approved some of these apparitions as worthy for public devotion. Here is a list of the some of the major approved apparitions in the past 500 years. Each has a wonderful story. Read about these and other apparitions of our heavenly Mother. • Guadalupe, Mexico (1531) • Rue du Bac, Paris, France (1830) St. Catherine Labouré and the "Miraculous Medal." • Rome, Italy (1842) • La Salette, France (1846) • Lourdes, France (1858) St. Bernadette • Champion, Wisconsin (1859) • Knock, Ireland (1879) • Fatima, Portugal (1917) Mary appeared to three children and great Miracle of the Sun. • Beauraing, Belgium (1932) • Kibeho, Rwanda (1981) In October every parish is given a quota for the Bishop's Services Appeal. We have until the end of June to remit our quota to the Diocese. We have a remaining balance of $15,458 on our quota of $51,619. The Bishop's Services Appeal funds the many programs and departments of the Diocese: Deaf Center, Marriage Prep, Youth Ministry, Newspaper & communications, Marriage Tribunal, and many more. We have two remaining monthly second collections for the Bishop's Services Appeal: May 27 and June 17. By the end of June, whatever has not been collected through these collections will have to be paid for out of our savings. I am personally making an extra donation to the Bishop's Services Appeal to help our parish meet its' quota so we don't have to use too much from our parish savings. Can you join me in helping? Our Men's ACTS Retreat concludes with the 10:30 am Return Mass on Sunday, May 20th. We thank all on our team and those retreatants who said "yes" to the Lord's invitation. We welcome all family and guest who will be joining us today.

St. Rita of Cascia

May 22 Saint Rita of Cascia was a wife, widow, and mother before becoming an Augustinian nun. She seems to have done most of her ministry within the convent, yet counseled many lay people who came to the monastery. Rita was known for her austerity and charity, along with prayerfulness.
