We have all joined CSI for many reasons. Your reason could be to expand your network, perhaps you are look-ing for a new career and found the CSI membership a broad group of people in which to explore that. Your reason may have been simply to try to better our indus-try of Architecture, Specifications, new products and in-novation that affect all of us or just to try to improve the integrity of this business we call construction. How can we accomplish that or at least affect it? It really comes down to how we conduct ourselves with the people we deal with every day. We all have dealt with people who aren’t honest in what they tell you, don’t follow-up on things they said they would, don’t return calls in a timely manner and the list could go on. We all have things we could add to that list. Those things leave us with a bad impression of them and one we don’t soon forget. The things we do remember are the people who are honest, follow-up as they promised and deal with you in a fair and honest way. Those people are the ones whose names we pass onto our colleagues as great to work with because they have integrity, honesty and are fair to deal with. That is one way to affect our industry, one contact at a time, one fair transaction at a time and one single meeting at a time. This is what we need to promote, the rest will fall into place. Be nice to people and have fun at what you are doing, people will notice. Karl Kraemer, President Madison Wisconsin Chapter CSI

New Starting on July 1, 2018, the Construc-tion Documents Technology (CDT)® program will transition from a certificate to a certifica-tion. Read more here. CSI is the construction community's authority on communication and construction docu-mentation. Through CSI's Certification Pro-gram, you can develop a conceptual under-standing of the entire construction process, and concrete skills in:

Construction documentation develop-ment and administration

Specification writing and enforcement

Product research and sourcing

Communication with the design and con-tracting teams

CSI's Certification Program consists of the Construction Documents Technologist (CDT)®, Certified Construction Contract Adminis-trator (CCCA), Certified Construction Specifi-er (CCS) and Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR). Are you a Region/Chapter Certification Chair, or an instructor for a CSI Certificate/Certification exam? Check out the resources available to help you prepare candidates. Note: During 2019, the CCCA, CCS and CCPR will take a hiatus to undergo critical program re-search, exam rewriting and redeployment. Watch for more information on these with a revised ex-am for Spring 2020.
