In Hebrew, Hahgoot has greatly enjoyed the “Shakshuka” series (by Galia Oz, Amos Oz’

daughter), her poetry workbook and writing stories

She works in year 2 comprehension workbooks in

Hebrew independently.

She read two of the “Shakshuka” books and

drew illustrations.

Hahgoot was very impressed by the large denim pencil case she received from the BJE

and it is now her “homework organizer”.

She has enjoyed the unit about Shavuot and

the ten commandments, and was interested in the unit about Tel-Aviv.

I made a presentation about Tel-Aviv to accompany the story in her BJE workbook.

She was a bit confused when I added photos of her in Tel-Aviv

as she thought it was a story about the two BJE characters...

It was a nice unit, showing how the city changed over

the years (and a good opportunity to talk about how my dad, me and her saw the city in different

stages as well).

Right: the great mosaic she made at the library workshop over the

Hahgoot made a workbook for Alma about Dora’s adventures.Interestingly, she decided to make a story about balloons and solving problems with them...

Hahgoot was having lots of social problems with her BFFs Elijana and Jasmin. We had many discussions about being a friend, keep a friend and when a friendship isn’t a good one.

We made some sheets to try and sort out the problems (with little success).

Can’t remember if I put this one up before. This is the list of “rules” I made with Hahgoot for the trip to Israel and she illustrated. She was involved in suggesting the rules as well. From top right: Always use social smarts; every day do morning and night procedure

with no arguments, positively and independently; Be flexible and not rigid – plans can change!; You should try new food and experiences every time; don’t hit your sister – find a compromise!; take turns and share games and activities; keep agreements (with

mum); stay calm – especially regarding unexpected noises (here she drew Amitai, because she wasn’t sure how he will behave when she meets him...). As you know from the trip presentations, some rules held better than others...
