The CRRC Food Pantry is trying to fill our shelves for November with pumpkin and stuffing. We already have the other items for our holiday bags. We just need
canned pumpkin and stuffing mixes. If you care to help, please bring your donations to the CRRC Main Office in Sattler; next to the CRRC Thrift Store.

Thanksgiving in May
Two Years Old?!?!? Let’s Party!! The Dam Seniors Invite You
Two years ago, almost 100 peo-ple turned out for the Grand Opening of the CRRC Senior Center. This year, we are ready to have that many, and more, come see all the fun things we do, and the good food we have to eat! Make plans now to attend our Anniversary Party, on Thursday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will have a pot luck lunch around 11:30. If you would like to bring something, feel free to bring any salad, side dish, or dessert (or just bring yourself). La Verne Peterson and Bobbye Gardner - a duet of
Resource Program Director Maureen Schein takes a break beside last year’s Stamp Out Hunger haul.
This Saturday! Put your food items out for collection by your letter carrier.

beautiful harp and flute music, will kick off the entertainment at noon. At 1:00 pm, Dave
Wheeler - Baritone, Vocals by Dave will sing. For those of you who love the oldies by Sinatra, Dean Martin and Robert Goulet, you won't want to miss this. At 2:00 pm,
The Starliners Dance Group will strut their stuff with some line dancing. As important as the food and entertainment, we would like to share our accomplishments, our goals,
and our dreams with all of you. We would like you to help us reach people who are
looking for a place to go to find education, crafts, new friendships, trips, and some good old fashioned fun. So come and join us and bring your friends, neighbors and parents along with you!
Mark your calendars!! Dam Seniors

CRRC Rec Center Campus — — The Gathering Place Grows
The CRRC Resource Program has created a new fund to help with unusual needs in the Canyon Lake community. This might be a water leak repair, emergency prescriptions, or rental deposit to help a family in an abusive situation. Donations to this fund are tax-deductible.
Please watch your neighbors homes
and businesses. Our Community Center/Senior
Center was broken into sometime Sunday af-
ternoon/night. Intruder made off with all our
electronics and caused damages to the building
with a total of over $5,000. Someone has also
broken into field houses at the sports complex
twice in the last week and tried to break into
one of the Lion's Club storage buildings. Sev-
eral churches in New Braunfels and business
were hit Sunday as well. Please don't hesitate
to call our Sheriff's Dept. if you drive by and
see any suspicious activity!! Thanks!
A Thank You, and an Introduction I want to send a big “THANK-YOU” to Linda Garrett…my dear assistant of 5 ½ years…Linda decided to retire and spend more time with family and friends…not to worry…she will still be helping with MarketDay and North Pole Village along with still coming to classes…I’ll just be getting her for free…it all started when Linda came to my aerobics class…little by little she started volunteering…when Cindy gave me her notice I begged Linda to step in and help me…she did just that…I finally begged her to take the position and get paid…she was and is a huge part of our CRRC family…we have had some really good memorable times and I suspect there will be more to come…on that note I would like to welcome Andi Taliaferro…I call her my little sister…when you meet her you will know why…Andi has taken over the basketball and volleyball programs for me…Andi comes with her husband Brad…Mom Nancy…and three wonderful kids…Zach, Mathew, and Katy…all it took was one little maybe and Andi immediately said “YES”…I am tickled to have her on board with her enthusiasm and great smile…we are all proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization…thanks Canyon Lake…Kristi
In conjunction with Comal County, the CRRC Community Center will be hosting an Evening Re-porting Center.
The ultimate goal of the program is to divert juve-niles from delinquency while providing them with the skills to lead successful and productive lives.
The center will provide an alternative youth su-pervision strategy providing services and programs
that foster community participation, personal re-sponsibility, accountability and life skill develop-ment.
The CRRC campus will be used once a week, while most of the center activities will take place at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.
Being Good Neighbors
