LIFE TOGETHER

VOCATION After the Risen Lord ascended into heaven, his disciples continued his work on earth. Blest are the ones found working when he returns. If you feel a call to a Church vocation, call or email Father Matt Lorrain at 225.336.8778, [email protected], or visit, www.diobr.org/vocations.

DOING GOOD WORK Congratulations to Matthew Rice on winning the 2A LHSAA state outdoor track and field championship in the 1600 meter run and 800 meter run.

Dear Friends, This weekend, there is a second collection for our sister community in Batahola, Nicaragua. We experienced a visit from some who live and work there a few weeks ago. They put a face on what can seem like a far away place. Please remember them as you consider financially supporting the Center in Batahola with the second collection this weekend. Congratulations to those who are graduating this weekend. May your future be filled with blessings . Next weekend, will be the ordination to priesthood for three men for our diocese: Deacon Matthew McCaughey, Deacon Al Davidson, and Deacon Peter Dang. You may remember Al Davidson who spent a summer here a few years ago. Having these three men join the ranks of the diocesan presbyterate will be a help to our numbers. Keep in mind though that there still remains a shortage of priests to cover all the diocesan needs. Praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life continues to be a necessity. This week the school communities will be completing their year. This means summer is officially here! The campus will be quieter, even with the summer activities that will come and go. We are coming to the end of the Easter season with the celebration of Pentecost next weekend. From Easter Vigil until Pentecost the church is celebrating the joy in Christ Jesus’ victory over sin and death through the resurrection. Before we enter what is called Ordinal or Ordinary Time, we will depart from Easter through the Feasts of the Holy Trinity, and the Body and Blood of Jesus over the next few weekends. Its as if the Church wants to clearly say that the experience of the love of the Trinity and the nourishment of the Body and Blood of Jesus will accompany us through the next weeks and months of the liturgical year. I hope you will be blessed this week. Love,

CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL Summer at CHS will offer courses in Academics, Arts and Athletics. New to our summer program will be Adult Leisure courses.
