Un Día de AniversarioEl 21 de mayo, con gratitud celebraré el 25º aniversario de mi ordenación sacerdotal.

Agradezco a Dios … por haberme llamado a servirle a Él y a Su Iglesia en ésta vocación especial.

Agradezco a mi familia … por haberme animado en la oración, con palabras y su ejemplo desde mi niñez y aún hasta ahora.Agradezco a los sacerdotes quienes han sido ejemplos, mentores y amigos.

Agradezco también a la parroquia El Buen Pastor – a los feligreses quienes comparten

su amistad conmigo y mi familia desde que nos hicimos miembros parroquiales en 1978 y

a todos los feligreses de El Buen Pastor hoy día.

Mi oración en este día verdaderamente es de gratitud, pero también pido que me acompañen en una

oración de intercesión.

Juntos, pidamos a Dios, quien me ha llamado y sostenido a mí y a otros de la parroquia El Buen Pastor a servir a nuestra Iglesia como sacerdotes, que también llame a otros entre nosotros hoy para servir ¡en esta maravillosa vocación!

An Anniversary DayOn May 21, I celebrate with gratitude the 25th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood.I am grateful to God … for calling me to serve Him and His Church in this particular vocation.I am grateful to my family … for encouraging me in prayer, word and example from my childhood to this very day.I am grateful for priests who have been role models, mentors and friends.I am grateful as well to Good Shepherd parish – to the parishioners who have shared their friendship with me and my family since we became members of the parish in 1978, and to all who are parishioners of Good Shepherd today.My prayer on this day is indeed one of gratitude, but I also ask you to join me as well in a prayer of intercession.Together let us pray that God, who has called and sustained me and others from Good Shepherd parish to serve our Church as priests, will also call others among us to serve in this wonderful vocation!

Fifth Sunday of Easter“I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I

have loved you, so you also should love one another.”– John 13:34

It is easy to love someone when they love you back. But it takes strength and courage to love someone when we feel unappreciated, used or feel our opinion doesn’t matter. It takes courage to “love my neighbor” when he may be someone I don’t like, someone I don’t know or someone that doesn’t look like me.

During the Easter Season we are blessed with Scriptures that guide us into a deeper relationship with Jesus. Today’s message; “As I have loved you, so you also should love one another” tells us of the gift of God’s abundant love for us. God’s love is poured down upon us, and we are called to share that love with our family, friends, and world. The hallmark of our Christian life is the gift of love. May we continue to grow in faith and grace by loving and serving one another.

Program Option: Family Faith Formation Registration opens soon for K-12 Faith Formation classes. With today’s busy schedules, many families find it a challenge to enroll in a weekly faith formation class. To address this need, Good Shepherd has a Family Faith Formation session which guides parents in their own faith formation, and in handing their faith down to their children. • Parents meet once per month on a Monday evening to

learn more about our Catholic faith as well as concrete ways to live that faith in your family’s daily life.

• In addition, approximately once a month, families come together as a small group community for special gatherings.

Dear Parishioners, We are always grateful as we consider God’s great gift of mercy that He shares so generously with us. We express our gratitude for the gift of mercy by being generous ourselves in sharing mercy with others. In that sense, we might think of ourselves as “stewards” of God’s gift of mercy. Mercy, like all other gifts, ultimately comes from the Lord; and stewardship, in its essence, is the expression of gratitude that takes the form of sharing. The gifts of life, faith and prosperity that we are blessed to experience, are all signs of God’s mercy. Our

sharing these gifts with others is our expression of gratitude to God for His gifts. As we offer this report of our parish’s stewardship of its many gifts for the 3rd Quarter
