6th Sunday of Easter

Dear Parishioners:

I so am thankful that we will begin the reopening of our parish to the public celebration of the Holy Mass. We will

do all due caution to proper hygiene, thorough cleaning, and social distancing. We are aware that circumstances could change that would cause a setback to our planned reopening. We rely upon God’s grace and the intercession of all the saints to make possible a full and unimpeded reopening of our parish over the weeks to come. We continue to pray for victims of COVID-19 and for all who are suffering the economic effects of the shut-down.

Please be attentive to the parish website (www.stbindy.org) for the most current information related to the reopening of our church building and access to the sacraments. The website will provide the most current and accurate information possible.

I am grateful for your beautiful stewardship over these past two difficult months. Our church buildings were closed but the Church was very much alive. Your prayers, your love of neighbor, and your financial sacrifices do not go unnoticed or unrewarded. God cannot not be outdone in generosity.

May God always bless you and your family.

THE MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known

that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought

thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins,

my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful

and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,

but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this momentreceive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Outreach MinistryJust as parishioners are good stewards of their treasure and share that with the parish, the parish shares a portion of your gifts with the wider community in support of the social mission of the broader church.

Therefore, in the name of the St. Barnabas family, the Outreach Ministry recently made a donation to Grace on Wings. Grace on Wings is a non-profit organization that provides cost-effective airplane transport for individuals needing to travel for medical treatment but too medically fragile to tolerate ground transportation. While we assist to financially support Grace on Wings in their mission to show Christ love through aviation, let us also remember to keep them in our prayers. Grace on Wings is the only charity air ambulance service in the country that is licensed as an air ambulance provider.

In addition to Grace on Wings, the Outreach Ministry has made a donation to St. Elizabeth/ Coleman Pregnancy & Adoption Services in the name of our parish family. These funds will be used to purchase car seats for babies and toddlers served by the agency. The need for new car seats has increased because the hospitals no longer provide them to new moms. Throughout its history, St. Elizabeth/ Coleman has changed the lives of countless women and families, providing support and hope when they needed it the most.

If you would like to be a part of Outreach Ministry here at St. Barnabas, as we seek to reach outside the parish boundaries to help those in need, please contact Connie Merkel at [email protected]
