Assimilates into the community and participates in its organizations. Becoming an accepted and active member of the community and its organizations.
These dimensions can define the scope of community involvement by physicians and offer some clarification about how they interact with their community. You may observe all dimensions in a practice or just one. Most importantly, this assignment is not an evaluation of how much evidence there is of community medicine, but rather your observations and impressions. Please write about what you’ve experienced and use the dimensions (above) and the following to guide your thoughts and ideas.
1. describe how non-physician members of the practice contribute to community medicine
2. describe what does your preceptor does in the community
3. what aspects of community medicine appear in the daily activities of the practice?
4. identify and discuss a community health problem that is prevalent during this rotation and describe one potential intervention that might improve the status of the patients in the practice.
