This is what we imagined the house to be like.

Colorado house in the mountains where the kids that are genetically engineered live (Max, Iggy, Angel, Gasman, Nudge, and Fang) live.

The School

This is a picture of what we thought “The School” would look like.

The School is the genetic engineering lab that “mutated” the kids. The School is located Death Valley, California, and the Badwater Basin.

The Flock goes to New York after escaping The School. The Institute is the headquarters for The School. The Institute has all the records of The Flock, so they want to go there.

Max a.k.a. Maximum Ride

This is a picture of Max from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Max is the leader of a group that calls themselves “The Flock”. The Flock includes Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel, all of which are kids who were mutated at The School. Max is the oldest member of The Flock, and a major character. Max is also dynamic because she changes much through the book. Max is a protagonist.

Fang

This is a picture of Fang from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Fang is the second oldest member of The Flock, being only 4 months younger than Max. Fang is a major character in the book. Fang picks up on details most other characters would miss. Fang is a dynamic character because he changes in the book. Fang is also a protagonist, being a member of The Flock.

Iggy

This is a picture of Iggy from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Iggy is the blind member of The Flock. Iggy is the third oldest member of The Flock, being only 6 months younger than Max. Iggy is a dynamic character because he changes throughout the course of the story. Iggy is also a major character, being a member of The Flock. Therefore, he is also a protagonist.

Nudge

This is a picture of Nudge from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Nudge is the third youngest member of The Flock. Nudge is a dynamic character because she changes in the book. Nudge talks a lot, and has a profound longing for parents. Nudge becomes a vegetarian after Fang pulls a prank on her. Nudge is a major character and a protagonist.

Gazzy a.k.a. The Gasman

This is a picture of Gazzy from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Gazzy is the older brother of Angel, and is a protagonist because he is a member of The Flock. Gazzy is 8 years old, and has light blond hair. Gazzy is a dynamic character because he changes throughout the book. Gazzy is also a major character and he can imitate voices.

Angel

Angel is the youngest member of The Flock being on 6 years old. Angel’s older brother is Gazzy. Angel can read and control minds. Angel is a major character because she is a member of The Flock. Angel is a dynamic character because she changes through the book. Angel is a protagonist.

Jeb Batchelder

This is a picture of Jeb from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Jeb Batchelder is the scientist from The School who rescued The Flock. Jeb is a static character in the book because he does not change. Jeb is also the father of Ari, the Eraser. Jeb an antagonist in the book. Jeb is also a minor character because he does not play a big role in the book.

Ari Batchelder

This is a picture of Ari from the comic book series Maximum Ride.

Ari is Jeb’s son who was a captive at The School. When Jeb rescued The Flock from The School, Ari was left behind. Ari was turned into an Eraser (half man half wolf) at the age of 7. Ari is killed by Max in the book. Ari is a major character because he plays a big role in the book. Ari is a static character, and an antagonist.

Max and Ari fight constantly throughout the book, and this conflict is resolved by Max breaking Ari’s neck and killing him. (character vs. character)
