Paul and Bruce are great friends. They do everything together.

Paul lives directly across the road from Bruce and his little brother Max.

Today is Max’s first day going to school without his Mum. He is going to school with his big brother Bruce.

The boys were talking to each other. They decided to get their scooters to ride to school.

Page 5: Max goes to school

They got their scooters out of the garage.

Page 6: Max goes to school

Max and Bruce went to the end of the drive. They met Paul and walked to school.

Along the way to school they had to check for cars coming out of driveways.

Bruce and Paul remembered to keep Max safe.

See the white lights on

the back of the car? That

means it’s backing out.

Wait Max, I

can hear a car.

Stop, look

and listen. Get off your

scooter to walk

across the road.

Max was a bit scared of crossing the road but Bruce helped him.

After they had crossed the road Max was talking to Bruce about how his character looked on Mathletics.

Suddenly a dog barked loudly at them through a fence….

Woof,

woof.

...but they ignored it because it couldn’t hurt them through the fence.

Max, Bruce and Paul crossed at the school crossing into school just in time!

“It is safest to cross here, the Road Patrol helps you cross,” said Paul.

When he got to school he didn't know which class to go in to.

Max saw his friend Fred and ran over to him. Fred showed him to class.

Max felt like a big school boy!

He knows how to keep safe on the way to school.
