TIPS: HERE ARE SOME TIPS: CHECK UNDER RIBBON COVER FOR CURRENT CALIBRATIONS Step 1: Clean Font sensor and check FONT Wheel to be tight to shaft of FONT Motor Clean Track and sensors HOME FONT WHEEL- Step 2 in any calibration "di 82" Note: some conditions of the sensors will cause a system lock up and "font seek error" along with other sensor errors will occur not allowing you into the diagnostics. If this happens you may have to put a volt meter on the rear transistors for each sensor after cleaning and monitor the voltage change while adjusting the pots on the PCB. (+30Vdc then Changes with Document blocking sensor/ Front Led has +5vdc on it) Step 2:

To Get a Test Document: Press "TEST" (hold) then The "CE" button - "di" on screen Then Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- Display shows "Drop Document" Drop long Document and check Quality in MICR Gauger *For Font Alignment: Use "di" 91 (Centers Font Character from left to right for best quality) *For Column Alignment: Use "di" 92 (Aligns the MICR characters from the end of the document into Specification on the gauge) EXAMPLE: TO CHANGE THE FONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT: From 1349 to 1360 Press 1360 followed by Press "TEST" (hold) then The "CE" button - "di" on screen Press 91 Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- "Mushroom" on display The FONT Wheel Alignment memory has now been changed from 1349 to 1360 Then Press "TEST" (Hold) then the "00" keys- Display shows "Drop Document" Drop long Document and check Quality

Examine Results:adjust values as needed. Note: Older MICR 1 units and those made by Brandt and Hedman have old firmware ( Rev 1-2.5) and require lower settings on the font alignment around 50.Check the test document at the furthest column location for the firmware number. Example

Maverick Kermit Serial Cable: The Maverick cable 039-90065-1 combined with a DB-9 female to female "gender-bender" will work for downloading.
