READING THE INFORMAL CITY | Caracas

Informal settlements in Caracas are self built by their owners without any expertise from the govern-ment or professionals. Their structures could colapse at any time. They lack of basic services and insti-tutional buildings. Their population are the poorest compared to the formal population. Urban violence is higly increasing.

How can architects improve informal settlements in Caracas?

The project aim to develop a series of sugestions to approach the informal settlements of Caracas city based on an intensive research about the situation of the city.
