Matting Table:

Series 2759080706050

* Depends on the colour, the gloss level of light colours drops more than the gloss level of dark colours when MA 100 is added.

The gloss level is affected by other factors, as well. See table listing parameters affecting the gloss level.

For plastic parts, see System Data Sheet "Paint System for Plastic Parts" (VR Technical Data Sheet No. 903.1).

Clean all substrates carefully with Permaloid® Silicone Remover 7010 or Permaloid® Silicone Remover 7799.

Sand lightly.

Substrate pretreatment:

Fully cured, well maintained and lightly sanded original or old finish.

Before further treatment carefully clean substrate with a suitable cleaning agent to remove dust and residues.

Factors influencing the degree of gloss:

shorter flash-off time

force drying

longer flash-off time

air drying

hardener with lower solids content

higher application viscosity lower application viscosity

higher dry film thickness lower dry film thickness

slower hardener faster hardener

slower reducer faster reducer

hardener with higher solids content

It is not necessary to add Permasolid® Elastic Additive 9050.

Permasolid® Matting Component MA 100 is not suitable for matting clear coats.

Different hardeners, reducers, methods of application, drying conditions and film thicknesses lead to different degrees of gloss (up to 20%)

Permasolid® Matting Component MA 100 is thixotropic.

The actual gloss level achieved is influenced by various factors aside from the colour.

The following table shows some additional parameters and their effect on the gloss level.

Higher gloss level Lower gloss level

Permasolid® Matting Component MA 100 may influence the hiding power.
