MMProblem
how do you fit all this? into this?
Photojournalists have to carry a multitude of equipment on the field which require recharging after an extended period of time. My group saw this as an opportunity to utilize the Moshi’s USB capabilities and light-weight attributes to design a product that could ease the load for a photojournalist.
What’s the problem?
MM Inspiration
Material Study:
Inspiration:
Photojournalist carry valuable equipment. It is a priority to provide the user with durability and ensured protection for their equipment.
Photojournalist are faced with different types of weather. Gore-tex will prevent moisture from damaging expensive equipment.
Before the ideation phase, we looked at different products such as hiking backpacks and Camelbak packs. This allowed us to study different backpack construction and ergonomics.

This 5 week project was sponsored by Dr. Enuf and Eastman Chemical. The goal of the project was to redesign the packaging of the 10 oz. Dr. Enuf’s energy booster, while maintaining the brand identity. It was also important to find ways to encourage the consumer to recycle the bottle.

During the ideation phase, the form was influenced by the current target audience, the blue collar worker. We wanted the form to reflect the upper body strength, or hard work of the blue collar worker. For the expanded market, we were aiming for a more simplistic modern appeal.
Foam modeling was used to get an idea of size and feel in the hands. >>>

MM Project Overview
diaper bag/changing padCARGObaby
The goal of this project was to design a baby bag that allowed the parents to organize their baby’s necessities in a manner that is easily accessible.
In today’s society, men are becoming more involved with the responsibilities of taking care of the child. This has inspired me to design a bag that provides function, as well as style that appeals to both women and men.
Project Overview
MMABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
This image shows some of the typical items that a parent would carry in a baby bag.
How can we keep all of this organized and make them accessible at the same time?
Color & Form:In order to have a subtle appearance, neutral colors such as black, greys, tans, and navy blues will be used for the final design. Simple forms and minimal pockets are desired to stray away from the baby bag stereotype.
style + function
visibility

compartmentalization
Compartmentalization:Storage systems such as first aid kits, toiletries, and camera bags were used as a source of inspiration. All provide compartmentalization which allows the users to keep all items visible while organizing everything into designated pockets.
MMIdeation
The early stages of ideation were used to explore different features that could be utilized to improve the current solutions on the market.
Ideations:
A rough prototype was constructed to explore layouts
MM Prototype
A prototype was constructed to test the features before the final decisions were made.
Protoype:
MMStrap Configuration
[1] Single strap over one shoulder
[2] Traditional 2 straps
[3] One strap across the chest
Having buckles on the shoulder straps enable the user to easily remove the baby bag while holding a child. It also allows the user to configure their shoulder straps to their preference.
Strap Configuration:
MM Changing Pad

Once the changing pad is unzipped and laid out, all items necessary for changing the child are accessible from where the changing pad was released.
