Matthew 6:25-34

Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow.

Matthew 6:25-34Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your

life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his

Matthew 6:25-34splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how

God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown in the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, “what shall we eat?” or “what shall we drink?” or “what shall we wear?” For the Gentiles run after these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

A Lesson From BirdsBirds do not worry about foodBirds simply collect the food PROVIDED for them

We are more valuable than birdsIf God takes care of birds, HE WILL take care of

YOU

Page 8: Matthew 6:25-34

A Lesson From FlowersThe flowers of the field are clothed with beautyBut they did NOTHING themselves to get that

way

GOD DID IT ALL

God provides for something as temporary as flowers then He CERTAINLY will provide for you

What Worrying DoesNOTHING

Worrying is the most pointless exercise that we all participate in.

Not only is worrying pointless, but Jesus says 3 things that worrying does and does not do

Page 10: Matthew 6:25-34

What Worrying Does1- Does not add extra time to your life

2- Shows a lack of faith “O, you of little faith”

3- We become Gentiles/non-believers

Matthew 7:7-12Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will

find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!

Humans VS GodEvil – in comparison to God and our selfish nature

We still provide for the needs of our children

Parents love their children and are looking out for the best interest of their children

God who is BETTER than us, imagine how much BETTER gifts He gives to His children.
