INTRODUCTION
The Korean flag is called "Taegeukgi" in Korean. Its design symbolizes the principles of the yin and yang in Oriental philosophy.
The national flower of Korea is the mugunghwa (rose of sharon).
The flower itself symbolic significance stems from the Korean word mugung, meaning immortality.
The currency of Korea is won (1000 won equal to RM2.78)

South Korea is the United States' seventh-largest trading partner and is the 15th-largest economy in the world.
In early 1960s, The government carried out a currency reform, strengthened financial institutions, and introduced flexible economic planning
In the 1970s Korea began directing fiscal and financial policies toward promoting heavy and chemical industries, consumer electronics, and automobiles.
In recent years, Korea's economy moved away from the centrally planned, government-directed investment model toward a more market-oriented one.

Bilateral trade between Malaysia and South Korea has been growing with total trade at US$12.7 billion last year compared with US$10.4 billion in 2005.
South Korea and Malaysia agreed to push for a bilateral free trade agreement (FTA) and step up cooperation on energy and defense.
