1" INTRODUCTION

This workshop was conducted to give knowledge to the student about the tools and usage of

MATLAB software This workshop focused on !"#$% part & student who is developing their

Final 'ear Pro(ect progra) that )ay involve the usage of MATLAB on its pro(ect Two )aintopics were teaches in the workshop which is fu**y logic tool bo+ and i)age processing

The speaker for the workshop is ,ncik Mohd Ra*if bin "ha)suddin which is the lecturer of

Faculty of !o)puter and Mathe)atical "ciences -iTM "hah Ala)

This workshop occurs for two days but each in different week which is week five and week

si+ The first day the speaker briefs the students about the basic knowledge to MATLAB and

the Fu**y Logic toolbo+ in the MATLAB and how to use the toolbo+ .n the second day/ the

speaker brief about MATLAB and how it can help on i)age )anipulation "peaker

profoundly e+plain about the structure of i)age and how really the )achine read a picture

After that/ understudy was open to a few capacity that e+ist on MATLAB tool co)part)ent

which is including the picture preprocessing assign)ent and picture control/ for e+a)ple/

changing over R0B picture into grayscale/ hone picture and read picture shading propensity

(ust by a few line of co))ando+ and picture handling

The )odule that involve in this workshop is fu**y logic toolbo+ application and i)age

processing There also a brief e+planation about the basic knowledge of using MATLAB

The speaker taught us how to do so)e si)ple arith)etic operation and )atrices

Fu**y Logic toolbo+ is provided in MATLAB that intend for testing and generate

the fu**y rule before write the rule in code for) This is needed to )ake sure that the rulethat we generate are illegal which is )ean there is no error of output when we run our

rule in the code for) To achieve that/ we need to test the relation of the rule in fu**y

logic tool bo+



As shown in the figure below/ the output auto)atically generated by fu**y logic

toolbo+ that indicate the status of our fu**y value which is acceptable or not

1n i)age processing section which is held in second day/ speaker was e+posed to student

on how to )anipulate an i)age in MATLAB using co))and line The co))and line is

intending to retrieve the e+isting library in MATLAB which is )ake user beco)e easier

to perfor) i)age preprocessing path

3" CONCLUSION

This workshop is very beneficial for student in prepare for their Final 'ear Pro(ect especially

in fu**y logic and i)age processing as the techni2ue used in the pro(ect There are )ore than

half nu)ber of !"#$% student that doing their Final 'ear Pro(ect using fu**y logic and i)age

processing Therefore this workshop progra) is a good approach to help the student beco)e)ore knowledgeable in this particular techni2ues using MATLAB
