Maths Tasks Week 2- 18/1/21
The tasks below are split into a sheet for Year 1 and a sheet for Year 2.
The children must start with the Try tasks first before moving on to the Use and then Prove tasks.
Suggested structure to each Maths session:
➢ 5 minute warm up game/exercise (see suggestions on the next page).
➢ Watching a pre-recorded video input if there is one available for this day (see page 2).
➢ 10- 15 minutes spent completing the Try, Use and Prove tasks provided.
➢ 5 minutes to check answers and self-reflection upon learning. Have I met the success criteria?
In Bowldown, we have a maths ‘chilli chart’ in which the children sometimes rate how spicy they think the challenge of
the tasks set were on a scale of Mild, Spicy, Hot and Super-Hot. The children are welcome to rate their tasks at
home as part of the reflection on learning.
If you see a red chilli symbol next to a question or task, then this means that it is designed with a high level of
challenge.
LO = the learning objective.
Success Criteria = I can/I know/I recognise/I understand statements.
