Using chalk draw a large table (similar to the picture above). If you don’t have chalk this could be done on paper. Children to tally how many objects they have found. Adults - please explain to the children that tallies are usually marked in bunches of five. The first four tallies are marked vertically. Activity 1: I can make a Tally Chart

Go out into your garden and collect a selection of objects (a time limit could be given to avoid the collection of too many objects). Using chalk draw a large table (similar to the picture above). complete them. There is not an expectation to complete all the tasks below however, all children are expected to

engage in some maths learning. The home learning books we have provided can be used to document Maths

learning.

Activity 3:I can make a pictogram We have uploaded and saved into the week 4 Maths Home Learning tab a PowerPoint which shows a range of different pictograms. Children could use physical toys and objects at home to make a pictogram. We have created one in school and have taken a picture for you to use as inspiration.

Activity 4: I can make a pictogram Buy a packet of smarties or other coloured sweets. Create a pictogram to represent the colours in the packet (below are some examples of ways you could display the pictogram).

Activity 5:I can make a block diagram (graph) We have uploaded and saved into the week 4 Maths Home Learning tab a PowerPoint which shows a range of different block diagrams. To link with the Great Fire of London theme we have uploaded The Great Fire of London Block Graph activity. This could be printed out or you can draw your own. Children need to complete and colour the block graph to show how many of each picture there is. We have also uploaded and saved into the week 4 Maths Home Learning tab blank block graph templates which you might like to print and use.
