Start with a problem
To solve this problem, we need to use all the skills we have learnt so far including how to add and subtract decimal numbers. When subtracting these numbers, you must line up the decimal point and use 0s as place value holders.
Answer:To solve this problem, we need to do 4.3 – 2.59 = 1.71kg

We are going to use our conversion skills
today to solve problems involving g and
kg.
When solving problems involving a mix of
g and kg, make sure to convert all
amounts to the same unit (just like we did
yesterday)

For this question, you will need to change 4 ½ kg to g = 4,500g. You can now find the difference between these two weights by subtracting them.
4,500 – 3,300 = 1,200g
