Dear prayer partners!
Loving greetings in the mighty name of our Master Trainer,
We praise and give all glory to God, with gratitude in our hearts as
we write this newsletter. We have experienced the faithfulness of
our God and His guidance in countless ways. I take this
opportunity to appreciate all our dedicated prayer and finance
supporters, because of yours fervent prayers and support we could
see amazing things happening in and around OTI. Our new
missionary candidates have just finished their 8 weeks of training in
OTI and reached to the respective mission fields for their field
exposure. The Lord made this possible by providing wisdom and
knowledge, good health and divine guidance to all of us. 2nd phase
of course will start on 5th November 2012. We trust God for your
continued prayer and support. May our good God bless you as you
read this newsletter!
Yours in Christ,

We need your prayer & financial support for the following training programs
Cross cultural Communication Workshop - 28th Nov to 15th December 012 -
At OTI
Total expected expenses 90,000.00
In service course February 2013 Expenses Rs. 50000/-
Children Ministry workshop March 2013
Construction of new Dormitories 25 lakhs
Bridge-Course
We had a one- month bridge course before we
could come for MCC Phase-I. This helped us overcome
stage fear, correct our grammatical mistakes and learn
the communication skills in order to write and speak in
English fluently. God had provided some facilitators who
facilitated us to write and speak in English in a better
way. We could learn not only English but also we could
improve our general knowledge, skills and behaviour.
Once Omanaakka mentioned, “We should have laugh-
ability”, which means willingness to laugh at our own
mistakes. It was very difficult for us initially in the process
of language learning. We knew about teach ability,
mobility, durability etc., but it was a new concept and
we could learn to freely laugh at our own mistakes.
Different teachers have facilitated and motivated us
saying, “To be an effective language learner the ADULT
must become CHILD-LIKE”.

His Voice
27th April, 2012 was our first wedding
anniversary and on that day we entered into
Outreach Training Institute (OTI) campus. On the
58th day i.e. on 23rd June, 2012, an entrance
interview was conducted in the campus by HOD-
HR Department and Secretary for Recruitment.
Simultaneously, a Medical check-up was also
conducted by Dr. Diana Srinivasagam. Early in
that morning we received call from my in-laws
saying, “your father-in-law is serious he can’t talk
anymore”. After Lunch, a call came from home; as
we answered the voice said, “Your father-in-law
breathed his last at 1:00 p.m.” He is the father of
my wife Juliet and she misses him so deeply. As we
had busy days, nights were the only time to think
about the lost ones. Many sleepless nights were
experienced in our lives.
After 19 days we got call from my father
and he said, “Your Aunty left us yesterday 9:00
pm” (i.e. 12th July, 2012). Many unanswered
questions arose from inside of me…why is this now?
Why not when we were in secular work? Finally, the
answer clearly and loudly came saying, “I have given my only begotten son for your sake, how
many have you still? What did Job say when he lost all that he had all of a sudden? Job was a blameless man and you ...?” the only word I could
utter in reply was “I’M SORRY LORD”. Loss of
loved ones was an instrument which helped me to
learn directly from God that I should always only
look unto Jesus even when I’m down. I’m grateful
for what this loss taught me because that’s when I
heard His voice.

Sports Day
Missionary Candidates Course- Phase 1
The MCC- Phase 1 course for the year 2012-2013 started on
9th
June 2012, with an orientation. The candidates were given
a warm welcome by the OTI staff and their children. The
children were happy and excited at the arrival of the
candidates and welcome them by giving flowers. Following
that a welcome song was sung by the staff. The HOD for HR
Rev. Jonathan Chavan, the Recruitment secretary Mrs.
EbiRajkumar and the OTI Director Mr.Mathews P Mathews
addressed the candidates.
Highlights from the welcome address
IEM’s Objective: Gospel to every individual; Church among
every people group.
God’s call is Theo centric. He calls us first; then prepares us
for his ministry. The twelve disciples were trained at Jesus’
feet 24 hours a day for 3 ½ years. God never sends you for
ministry before calling you towards Him.
Like a bald man selling hair oil, is one who lives in sin
proclaiming the gospel.
Peter knew that Jesus is the Son of God; but he was not
willing to pay the price. (Mat.26:69). Missionary work
involves not only understanding the truth of God but also the
willingness to pay the price.
Our lives matter more than what we do; many a time we
disappoint the chief gardener by our way of life; but He
prunes us so that we will bear much fruit.
Your attitude should be like that of Jesus.

Quiet Day – Quite a Day On 7th July, 2012 (Saturday) OTI had a Quite Day that
was a wonderful day for us. There was pin drop silence in our campus. Everyone was excited to listen to the voice of God. On that very day God really spoke to each and every one of us in different ways. I prayed, “Lord I want to hear something from you today. I turned my Bible to the book of Matthew, chapters 2-4, but I felt nothing in my heart. Again I prayed to God saying, “Lord I know you want to speak something to me, tell me I’m here”. At that moment I was inspired to sing. So I opened my song book and my eyes fell on these lines: So send I you To labour unrewarded To serve unpaid To bear rebuke To suffer scorn and scoffing To bear the burden Forsaking home and kindred friends and dear one So send I you to the taste of Calvary” I could not understand what the song meant. I was so restless and I heard a voice ringing in my ears: Aren’t you afraid of persecution? Are you not going to make excuse saying, I cannot learn other languages? Don’t you think about less salary? Don’t you think about the facilities offered by the mission?” All these questions were answered in my heart “YES”. Once I had promised God, “I will do for you the most risky task.” But after hearing the life story of the missionaries I feel scared to go. When I see the circumstances I’m trying to excuse myself from my promise. But the Gracious Lord our God never allows me to run away from Him. Through this Quiet day I recommitted my life to God.
