New courses are the product of a curriculum development cycle which investigates (among other topics):● other syllabuses from awarding bodies and curriculums around the world● feedback from universities on suitability● current broader trends within the discipline, including pedagogy and assessment
Challenge: Solution:How do we implement new IB mathematics courses effectively while maintaining current course sequences, meeting compliance, supporting student and teacher wellness, and facing declining enrollment in our schools?
Embrace IB for All
IB Learner Profile
Embracing IB for AllEmbracing IB will benefit students as every course becomes more able to integrate the Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
IB Education
Goal: To develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Students should be encouraged to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand, that other people with their differences, can also be right.
Approaches to Learning Skills

Outcomes
● Fully aligns mathematics course work with the International Baccalaureate providing intended two-year course sequences.
● Provides access to courses in applied mathematics for all students.
● Increases access to IB course work and programmes for all students.
● Increases access to IB Maths HL by providing two distinct courses.
● Supports Academic level students in an IB experience that meets their unique learning needs.
● Enriches the learning of all students by exposing them to a more balanced curricula rich with inquiry, critical thinking, and reflection.

Bottom Line
Students should choose the pathway that provides them with a challenge, at which they can be successful, and best matches their interests and strengths.
Which path is
right for you?
● Articulation with○ Guidance and CST○ Sending Districts○ Other IB Schools
● IB Training
● Ongoing Professional Development
How are we
Preparing for
this change?
